We go every year to make cider and sometimes pick apples. Making cider takes about an hour and costs about $7.50/gallon. It's a fun process and you end up with the best cider. The cider varies from year to year since the apples themselves do. The orchard caters one or two varieties of apples, and you get to decide how much of each you want. This year was all Macintosh apples for the cider (but that changes throughout the season), and it was very good cider. Picking apples is a fun family time that is very inexpensive. we wandered around for an hour trying different apples and picking a few that we liked here and there.
