Food Lion — Local services in Garner

I am leaving the review specifically for Sylvia in bakery. I ordered a cake for my daughter’s birthday. The day that I was going to pick up the cake, I realized that Sylvia had been trying to reach out to me about trouble they were having with a printer they needed to make a part of her cake. She was so worried about not getting in touch with me that she left me her personal cell phone. When I called her back, she politely explained the trouble she was having with the image printer for the cake. She explained that she reached out to all the stores in the area to try and find a store with a printer that would work. She was so kind and was willing to really do anything to rectify the situation. I know that technical difficulties are completely out of her control, but what I really appreciate was her effort to let me know about it before I went to pick up the cake. The food lion itself is beautiful and stocked well. Literally, the only reason for my one star is my experience with one specific cashier. The issue is anytime I’m in a line with the cashier named Janice, I get poor customer service. She appears to be friendly with people that look like her but unfortunately when someone that doesn’t look like her she is mean and cold. I’ve watched her do this on several occasions, in hopes that maybe she was just having a bad day. The times we’re living in show that there is a divide however I’m a human that no matter what chooses kindness every-time. I’ve observed this for months now and decided today was the day I gave a review of my experience.
