Food Lion — Local services in Gastonia

My family seldom shops at this Food Lion because my elderly parents speak and only can read in Spanish, and absolutely no English. Yesterday they had to go without me and had trouble finding some items, oddly enough fish sticks. A worker there saw my parents were confused. My parents told me he asked them if he could help them and my mom told him in Spanish that they did not speak English. To my dad's surprise he was able to speak to them in basic Spanish and walked around the store with them helping them find what they were looking for. My mom was shocked that he knew how to say fish in Spanish. He was so kind and helpful, even writing his name down and giving it to them and telling them to ask for him so he can help the next time they shop there. They felt so comfortable that they asked my family to stop shopping at Wal-Mart and only Food Lion. On behalf of both myself and my family I truly feel blessed to have someone to take the time and patience, especially with the language barrier to help my parents. First and last time I will shop at this location I had two DOORDASH orders and out of 17 items five were out of stock. I asked an employee if he had any Food Lion popsicles he pointed to the aisle that I had already looked. Then he said walk around the store they might b in a bin somewhere. I parked in the fire lane because it was shaded and it was 92 degrees outside at 9:15 am. I realize that I am not supposed to park there but I did not anticipate being there for very long. An employee made an announcement to move the car. I then heard her say "they better move that car or I'll tow it" very loud and rude like a redneck. I moved my car checked out and she and another cashier proceeded to give me dirty looks. I suggest that your employees work on their customer service skills because that wasn't necessary. I will decline any future offers for this location and will encourage everyone I know not...

I have been shopping at this food line for years never had any issues. But the last year I don't know if they've got new management for what I found stuff on the Shelves that's out of date From bread to Dairy. Most recently they stop selling the diet 7Up in the six packs the manager assured me several different times that they would get it back in stock, of course that never happened. I'm a very loyal customer to Food Lion so I switched to Sprite Zero that's right I switched brands of soda. And now for a week & a half I've been stopping no Sprite Zero really I'm not asking for much but I've already switched brands of soda to stay with the same grocery store I think I've done more than my part...
