We pulled up to Copper Ridge cabin and we loved it. We loved the inside decor but as soon as we stepped outside, there was absolutely no view of the mountains. Beer bottles broken on the ground... we were starting to get kinda disappointed. The next day we decided to try out the hot tub outside. It worked for about 30 minutes then started getting cold. It prompted us with “FLO” so I called them and they said they’d send someone out. They did while we were gone and all this guy did was turn it off and back on. He didn’t fix it at all. So when we got back and were excited to try it again, the heater was completely done for. So I called again because I didn’t want to get charged for it. They sent the same guy back out and all he did was throw out a piece of the filter then left. Didn’t tell us anything just left and didn’t come back. My now husband was so annoyed. We finally gave up on the idea of using the hot tub and decided to use the sauna. It worked good. Until I went downstairs and busted my bottom and fell and twisted my pinky falling because the sauna was leaking from upstairs. We were so mad we didn’t even want to be at the cabin anymore. Everything they have is lightly fixed before you get there and once you use something it breaks dang near immediately. We tried to play pool but since the pool table was in such a confined area, we weren’t able to play. SUCH a disappointment. Wish we would’ve spent our honeymoon elsewhere. Totally not worth it. Also, no bears here. We stayed a week and didn’t see not one at our cabin. Also, WiFi does not work at all. So don’t think about watching Netflix or even looking up the next thing to do in town. Absolutely no service and no WiFi. The couches have broken legs, stained, the bed is HORRIBLE. My husband had a hurt neck for two days because the bed and pillows. All of our dishes had old eggs with mold stuck to the sides so we were really disgusted with the place. The water filter on the fridge doesn’t work so make sure to buy lots of water bottles or drink sink water. Broken glass in the driveway as well. I wish I would’ve read the reviews of the place...
Read moreI wasn't going to post this publicly but I wrote to the managers on July 13th and they never bothered responding. Here is my email to them explaining my experience at Hemlock Hollow:
Good morning,
I am leaving the Hemlock Hollow this morning. I just wanted you all to be aware of some of the issues I encountered while here so hopefully they can be remedied for the next guest. When I arrived the cabin was dirty and smelled bad. It appeared that it had been cleaned a long time ago and maybe wasn't occupied for a long time. There were dead insects everywhere and everything was covered in dust. Some of the towels had questionable stains. The bedsheets on the upstairs bedroom are brown in the bottom right corner along with the comforter that goes along with it. The sink in the downstairs bedroom doesnt drain. Despite never having opened any windows there was a bee in the upstairs bedroom that we had to remove and then the night before last a bat started flying around the same bedroom at 3:30am. That was a very unpleasant experience. Again, no windows were open so there is some kind of hole or crack in the ceiling that animals can get in through.
My recommendations: deep clean the cabin, purchase new clean towels and linens, plug the hole in the roof, fix the drain in the downstairs bedroom, put a sign that says "Hemlock Hollow" on the street so guests can find the cabin at night, replace carpet on stairs and upstairs bedroom, fix broken mirror on upstair vanity or replace it. Let guests know they will need to dispose of garbage several miles away.
At a price of $1251 I didnt expect a luxury cabin but I did expect things to be clean and in working order. I was not satisfied with my stay.
I hope that you guys will consider my recommendations for your next...
Read moreBrandywine Condo #12. We’ve gotten older and can no longer tolerate driving the narrow, twisty roads of Cobbly Nob – much as we love it. So this trip we opted for Brandywine Condo #12 at the bottom while younger family members stayed up on the mountain. The condo was comfortable, cozy and very clean. WIFI was a breeze and TV channels were numerous. All three bathrooms had plenty of counter space & good water pressure. Bedrooms were roomy and beds were comfortable. Downstairs furnishings were a bit dated but adequate. The walking-distance pool was clean & refreshing. We enjoyed watching for the daily rabbit & groundhog sightings out on the green, not to mention some of the funny golfers we witnessed. The permanent residents next door were a delight and very helpful (Hi, Barkley & family!).
Recommendations: Provide the swimming pool’s combination lock code to Brandywine renters – got it from the neighbors. Verify & provide the condo’s telephone # - we were unable to get or give the correct # to family staying local. Cell phone reception is spotty. Update the coffee pot and the scratched pots & pans – thankfully we always bring one good fry pan from home. Provide a few coffee filters and a tiny bottle of dish soap – with only 2 we never used the dishwasher. Fix the broken lamp in the 2nd bedroom, and a TV in that bedroom would be nice. Include a small, outdoor table for each of the patios. Not sure why the battery was hanging out of the fire alarm at the top of the stairs. (?)
All in all, we enjoyed the condo very much and greatly appreciate the outstanding customer service we received from Cobbly Nob Rentals. We would not hesitate staying...
