That Gumbo Life — Local services in Gautier

I'm so disappointed in my experience with That Gumbo Life. I ordered and paid for a beautiful piece of furniture (with $150 shipping cost) on May 18. Monica told me it was going to ship out of her shop on May 26 with the white glove shipping service I paid for and that the shipping service would contact me directly. On June 2, I followed back up with Monica for an update as the shipper never got in touch with me. She responded and said she'd reach out to them and then be back in touch. She never got back in touch with the update. On June 8, I reached out again asking for an update or a tracking number and didn't hear back. On June 9, I let her know that if I didn't hear back by the end of the day I was going to have to dispute the charge (which is appx $900) with Amex as it's been nearly a month and I still don't have a tracking number, the name of the shipping company, an estimated arrival date - NOTHING! After I opened the claim with Amex, I went online to start searching for a different piece to purchase and I see that Monica and That Gumbo Life has THE SAME piece I purchased (and by purchased, I mean FULLY PAID FOR) still up for sale in her shop. I'm so frustrated in the lack of communication and also what seems like incredibly shady business practices. I wouldn't recommend buying from That Gumbo Life - especially if you're going to have them ship...

First of all everyone there is so friendly and helpful! I brought in two pieces that needed a lot of help. They are about 30 years old have been through normal wear and tear, multiple moves as well as sat in storage for a few years. I had a specific budget I wanted to stay under! They were able to work some magic and stay within my budget. . My furniture looks brand new! Will definitely use That Gumbo Life again and I recommend them! I have a fifty year old handcrafted wooden jewelry box. It has a lot of sentimental value. The box was in horrible shape. The felt was destroyed. The box was chipped and falling apart. I took it to The Gumbo Life and worked with Jason. Jason is a true craftsman. His level of skill is hard to find. He transformed my ugly box into a jewelry box that is exceptional and functional.
