Little General — Local services in Gleason

The manager is really rude. A was a witness to a young man who came in to the store asking for a job. He was talking to the assistant manager. He had tattoo's, piercings, and gauges (large holes) in his ear. He was very polite to the assistant manager and the Assistant manager was telling him he'd have to cover his tattoo's and take his piercings out which he fully agreed with her, not minding that. The manager looked at the young man and told him with a snarky attitude that she wouldn't hire him... He asked why and she replied, "Those tattoo's, those piercings.. uh uh... I'm not hiring you". That's profiling and stereotyping all because of what he looks like... I refuse to go back there because I myself have piercings, tattoos, and gauges in my ears.. The assistant manager apologized for the store managers unbelievable behavior and referred him to a little general that was tattoo and piercing friendly that...

I've been shopping at the Gleason Little General since Mr Junior Blackburn owned the store. That's been many years ago. I think sometimes the staff are really busy and may forget to smile and greet customers the way they expect. But for my experience the staff has always been very friendly and go out of their way to help me anytime I'm there. I'm handicap and I truly appreciate all of their kindness and help while im doing business there. Thats just my experience. I dont know any of the employees there and they dont know me as well. I truly enjoy my experience while in your store. God bless you all and remember to pray for each other no matter what a person looks like or how they dress or what race they are. The store had 8 minutes until it was time to close and all I wanted to do was run in and grab a drink and gas. They seen me and another man come into the store getting our drinks and still shut the register down even after watching me and him come into the store. No warning they were shutting it off early. The woman was very rude when the man said, “you guys still have a few minutes left.” She replied with “No, we are closed” with an attitude problem.
