Bottle Stop Wine & Spirits — Local services in Gloucester City

Sometimes businesses buy five star reviews and clearly when arriving at this facility this was one of them… When it comes to the average beer prices/canned items this isn’t a bad place at all, with minor mark ups.. but when it comes to the allocated liquor, this place is by far one of the highest price gouging places I have ever witnessed… Called on the phone the day prior. told whoever answered I saw the website and wanted to come in to make a quantity of purchases. When arriving at the facility I began to load my cart and the staff was more than helpful. But when we started to look at some of the more allocated items, I couldn’t believe my eyes when the staff was telling me the prices. When I spoke to the gentleman, he basically told me the items were there per the site and told me come into the store but when I got there, the pricing was more than double from the prices quoted online. I asked him for how much would the E H Taylor cost? He told me originally $140 but he would be willing to sell it for $120 which gave me red flags.. I told him I would grab a bite to eat and would come back as I was still sticker shocked from the site to in person. when I told him I was on my way back. He then told me he made a mistake and the price was $160. I did reference the website which had it for $80 and he obviously knew the website was miss priced and rather than being an honest business owner, who would correct their website he blantenly knows his prices are off and he even said it’s been that way for 2 years.Honestly, it’s stores like this that make me hate purchasing bourbon, as I’m trying to support local businesses and not go online. From the factory that bottle is $40 and to tell me $160 was an insult .. I still made my other purchases and went home .. I’ve been trying to find an honest business that receives great product and yes I would of spend $100 but to be quoted 3 different price...

The store has an unassuming façade, but once you step inside--OMG this place stocks everything. There was a dizzying amount of beers, Ales, and wines to choose from not to mention other Liquors and spirits! Pictured one of many ready-to-drink treats they sell.
