First things first...I love my hair! I got box braids with curly ends and I was worried at first because it didn't look like the picture I showed but it works on me and was done so neatly/professionally. I had an apt for 8:30, they started about 8:50 and I walked out at 2pm… LOVE! I like how the owner, Driss monitors every braider to make sure styles are done to the upmost of his satisfaction. No, they are not the friendliest bunch. Everyone said good morning and not much else but hey, I much rather have them focus on my hair than laughing and playing around.
I gave four instead of five stars because I wasn’t given a correct quote when I first asked about the price of my style. I overheard that my hair would be an extra $30 while someone was asking for my exact style. I asked about it and Mr. Driss explained adequately (extra for the curls at the ends) but I hated being blindsided like that, especially since I could have gotten faux locs for the same price as my box braids. Ugh! Overall - I like! It is a comfortable clean place to get quality hair...

I get there and of course the braider tells me the only way she twists hair is with gel. Fine. I let her go ahead since I wanted to give the salon a try since it’s closer than the braider I normally go to.
The braider twisted my hair so tight I had a headache for two straight days. I was wincing the whole time and even told her it hurt. She never said “sorry” and continued to put the death grip on my scalp. I looked over at the lady who was getting braids and she was clearly in pain also. This is one of those salons that believe tight braids are neat and last longer. My twists are less than one week old and are already looking messy.
If you care about and want to keep your edges, avoid this salon. I guess I’ll keep making the drive to Rockville for quality twists that won’t rip...
Read moreExcellent braids but be ready to spend your entire day here. It took well over 7 hours, they take there time. I would give 5 stars but I expected the owner and workers to be somewhat friendly. I think when you enter someone's place of business they should at least say "hello" especially when your spending $200 + to get your hair done. I said hello and they barely parted their lips, so I said it again, thinking they didn't hear me. Apparently, that's how they are. They spoke among themselves and hardly talked to their customers. Can you imagine being there for 7 hours and no one is talking to you, just around you as if youre not there. The customer experience is poor, but they can braid hair. So if you don't care about the customer service, long hours and want your hair to look good this is your place. But for me, I will take my hard earned money elsewhere, where people know how...
