I'm not sure why this place is rated so poorly. Most of the bad reviews seem to be from ignorant people who don't understand what a return pallet bin store is or newer resellers who aren't good at it. There is no guarantee any of your items work, but they make that known. They give you opportunities to check out the items in the boxes before you purchase so if it's broken you can usually tell. If you really want to know if something works, bring some batteries with you. If you purchase something and it doesn't work, that is the risk you take.
I've been here 5 times and have probably made about $1500 from my finds. One of my biggest complaints is that they do put the higher ticket, well known items in the cases, but the lesser known expensive items are left in the bins. They pull out stuff like video games and computer parts, but if you branch out and start looking for different categories you can find $200+ items here consistently.
This is the only bin store I will go to to source. Every other one I've been to has been subpar and have had way too many people. This one has always had great items and is not nearly as the chaotic as the one they have in Raleigh. If you're a new reseller reading this review, I recommend coming here. Just be picky with the items you grab and make sure they have a high sell through rate. This place is good because it seems most of their items are Amazon returns and not big box stores. The big box stores returns are usually subpar and not worth the time.
The reason I'm writing this review is because I see a lot of people writing poor reviews due to their own mistakes or ignorance. Here's a few pros and cons of this place.
Pros: Consistently good finds, good location with nicer than average customers, not as chaotic, mostly Amazon returns.
Cons: $1 fee when using card (this just seems to be a way to get more money out of people), higher ticket "popular" items are put in cases or on shelves, return pallets seem to be overpriced for resell (I have not bought one, but they do not seem worth it. Just buy from the bins)
This isn't something they can control, but an another annoying thing is that bad customers will open boxes and scatter the contents of them. This means that sometimes crucial parts to perfectly fine items will get separated. This happens fairly frequently and they do come around often to reseal boxes before the contents get separated.
To summarize, if you're a reseller reading this then definitely give it a try. If you only sell in one specific niche then this place is not for you. If you are an everything reseller then you will love it here. You can buy anything from books, to car parts, to electronics. If you step out of your reselling comfort zone you can easily find several $100+ items in just a few hours. The average item I pick up here is about $60 and I have only come on $8 day so far. This place is great and will be going tomorrow on $2 day to see how...
Read moreI have been many, many times. Including today. My gf and I love this place. Yesterday I installed a $177 Sensi smart thermostat I paid $10 for. Works great. I bought a 1080p native HD projector for $8. This is used daily and I am real finicky when it comes to tv"s and quality. My son and I couldn't be happier. Tablets $10. Wireless keyboards Bluetooth changes colors with case $10 to $2. I bought several. $32 smart light cases for $2. Huge floating rafts for lakes $2. My awesome air fryer $10. My son uses it constantly. We bought several brand new microwaves for $10. 3 kitchen stainless steel trash cans with auto lid from $2 to $8. These are the big ones. Even on slow days we leave smiling! It's fun, the music is loud but fitting somehow. My gf goes one way and I go the other and meet later on, happy to show each other our finds.
I found one of the treasure hunt chest for $10. It was for a $199 set of brand new Beats Pro ear buds. This is now part of my son's Christmas presents. $8 for my smart robot vacumm and charger works great. Cleans for an hour and a half on a single charge. We have 2 of these. I have SO many wireless phone chargers for inside the house and my vehicles. A robot phone charger that looks awesome on my car and get compliments constantly. My gf has just as many purchases and deals that I have, if not more! I honestly can't say what the best deal has been. My $200 cable router and modem. I could keep on going! I think you get the point. đ We love this place and look forward to it.
Big purchase! Gf bought a really nice brand new washing machine with a glass see through top. $700 washing machine she paid $150. We installed it at the Lake house works great. This place can blow your mind!
Whatever anyone can complain about, the deals are just too good to keep you or them from coming back. Void these bad reviews. Check out the items you are buying, enjoy the experience, the prices and the items themselves. Whatever you think a good store is and good prices, THIS place eats it!...
Read moreTreasure hunt Staff treats previous employees, buyers of side VIP section items and family and friends like royalty, giving them first dibs on best items.
On Monday $5 day, when the staff brings the big box out to refill bins, they are totally unfair throwing all the items to one side where the special previous employee or VIP customers are standing. If you watch closely when the big cardboard box comes out on Monday, and if those vip customers are there, they will throw all the items to where they are standing. It's harder for them to do this on Friday because of the whole red light green light rule they have.
When it happens, there can be five or six people on one side of the box and one of the special customers on the other side, and all of the items will be thrown to the side with the one special customer.
They sometimes will move the box or tilt the box toward these VIP customers and no one can even get over there.
Everyone that shops here should all get a fair shot at the items that are being unloaded.
I started coming here a while ago, but now the workers are becoming more biased in favor of the customers who buy from the VIP section and friends and previous employees. It shouldn't be like that.
I have not noticed this type of unfair treatment at other bin stores in the area for example others roll the whole bins out at one time so everyone gets a fair shot at finding some good items. If treasure hunt continue treating "regular" customers like this, people are going to stop coming.
Suffice it say I will not be returning to...
