Alexander's Harvest Market — Local services in Gonzales

Over the years I have shopped at Harvest many many times, and have a lot of good experiences, Sadly I have had a very bad view of this store as of late, but it is not because of the employees as is the cast in most businesses. My bad view come from the new owner of this store. I have witnessed him ignoring customers needing help, usually having a very sour look on his face and even berating his employees or their work (some employees of which I have seen working here for long he became the owner). Just a few days ago I was unfortunately witness to him insulting one of his employees in the middle of work hours and with a smile on his face while doing so, maybe one of the only moments I at least have seen him smile. I can't help but feel bad for many of the employees working here as I have seen a few of them here for years, and are always very kind and helpful to me. Also for those seeking work, I highly recommend looking elsewhere for it. Never in my life have I been so stunned that I'm left with no words to say. I went into this store it always make me feel good knowing its Christian owned, as I'm Christian myself. I went in quickly to just grab a few things and the cashier asks me.. "Do you speak English" I Obviously answered " yes" She asked, "Where are you from and how long have you been here" I said, "I'm from Dallas, Tx. She then asked, "what ethnicity are you?" I replied, "Hispanic" She Then Says " What Kind" So I said, "Mexican" Then What Threw Me Completely off is she said, " They ask me all the time if I'm Mexican and I said Ugh No" with the most disgusting look on her face.. I grabbed my things and left.. No words. What kind of business? What kind of person!? Never have I encountered such racism in MY LIFE! Needless to say. The store as a whole has always been wonderful. Clean and very respectful workers. Unfortunately, we had a very poor experience today and could not find a manager after looking. Usually one is always around. My wife had a very upsetting experience at the deli today. She had to witness a lady very loudly degrading a young female while all the coworkers just acting like it was a common thing. The young lady apologized to my wife and reassured her that she would go grab a manager. The deli meat my wife asked to have cut for us was not cut at the thickness she asked for.
