I can't say enough good things about Custom Air.

In May 2024 they retrofitted my century-old house (with steam heat) for central air. Two units, one for the first floor, one for the second, which required them to install ductwork and registers (oh, those radiators!) in both the attic/second floor ceilings and in the basement/first floor floors.

During the planning process, Kevin, the owner, consulted with me twice, once together with the electrician who was upgrading the electric to be able to support the new A/C, and once again before the work started, to discuss the placement of registers and the logistics. He was thorough and patient in answering all my questions, and is personable and easy to talk to.

The work all happened in one week, and was carried out mostly by the insanely capable and careful Sam and Sky, with regular visits from Kevin to check on the progress (and bring his crew lunch!), who also worked with them during the installation of the basement ducts. I really appreciated that they were so attentive to keeping the dust contained and to covering floors and carpets. The week in May they installed my units we had an early hot spell, but Sam and Sky kept their cool--honestly I was amazed at their good humor working in conditions in the attic that left them wringing wet.

Once the units were installed, and up and running, Sky gave me a tutorial in the Trane phone app that controls the two thermostats (one for each unit) and tracks usage over time (quite useful and enlightening).

After installation was complete, Kevin met with me for a debriefing, during which I made sure to tell him how much I loved the crew and the work. Custom Air sent Sam and Sky out a couple of weeks after the units were up and running to check on them and make adjustments as needed.

Included in the price of my purchase were two service visits over the course of the next year, which were carried out by the calm, knowledgeable, and competent Dale, who has been patient with my ignorance and humored my desire to learn more about the workings of the system.

I really can't say enough good things about the efficiency, competence and timeliness of the work by all concerned, from owner Kevin, to Mindy in the office, to technicians and installers, Sam, Sky, and Dale.

Just this (very hot) week I called them because the condensate unit in the attic to my ears sounded off, and Mindy scheduled a visit by Dale the very next day. He diagnosed a failing unit, and replaced it--and as everything was under warranty, it was covered for no cost on my part.

Hello, my name is Eric Brown just wanted to share my experience with custom air. I knew my unit was on its last leg last year. This year came up on us so quickly. I thought I’d try. to squeeze another year out of this unit, nope was not happening😂 I got online and start looking for companies with a five star rating. I came across custom air. I was pretty impressed with their reviews so I gave them a call technician Doug came out. He did a thorough inspection of my AC unit. Also the furnace he found The problem which I kind of already knew it was over.He told me it would be $1800 to breathe life back into the old unit, he also told me the furnace was not as efficient as it should be so I asked Doug if he could get me a quote to replace the furnace and the AC unit he said yes he could and he did just that .Craig stopped by and took a look at the system took some measurements explained the scope of the work after he left he reached out to me via online, gave me some options on package deals of furnace and AC units I pick a package deal that fit my budget and on Monday the 14th 2025 custom air arrived at my home Technician Sam and Skyler. I was expecting at least four workers to show up, but nope, just Sam and Skyler I guess when you know what you’re doing and you’re good at what you do it only takes two. Shout out to Sam and Skyler. May 2025 (10 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) I first met Kevin when I was referred to his company to use during my time as Facilities Director at the Salem4Youth Ranch ministry in Flanagan, IL. Kevin came out to meet with me and his guys did an amazing job the first time and then every time! I never looked any further than Custom Air for my facility’s needs. They are still involved there and are the first call that is made by the Ranch.

Recently, I had an issue with my personal HVAC system that required a complete replacement. I didn't hesitate to contact his company, and I was once again met with outstanding service. I contacted Kevin on a Tuesday. Dale, his service tech, came out that SAME day, diagnosed the issue, and suggested a couple options. Craig, his comfort specialist, came out THAT Wednesday to follow up and explain how they could remedy the situation and presented us with a few suggestions that gave us very flexible options. Craig was LOW pressure. He gave us the time to discuss and decide what was best for us. Once we determined which option we wanted, Sam & Logan on his installation team, came out the following Thursday to do the work. They began and finished that same day.
