FALSE ADVERTISEMENT OF MEAT AND HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT. Management has changed which has ruined this store. Specifically the manager Antonio is the most unprofessional and disrespectful manager I have EVER had an encounter with.
So first problem is that I go purchase what I thought is New York Strip Steak. The 3 steaks were packaged as New York Strip Steak for $19.71 right next to the Rib Eye Steaks. At first glance the steaks appeared more pink than red which was confusing. I even went as far as asking an employee which agreed that the steaks did in fact look like pork but reassured me that it was steak because of how it was packaged and named. As I’m ringing up the product it rings up as Rib Eye Steak which is weird but no big deal because the price stayed the same and it was still steak. Once I got home and cooked the meat, I could tell it was pork NOT red meat. So not only did I buy this fake red meat there is a whole section at the store selling PORK as Red Meat. Thankfully I caught this so fast because it was my family’s dinner for the night but how about any other consumer that would buy / have bought this and kept it for another day…. This is very wrong. Moving on my husband and I go back into the store to advise of our problem and find resolution. That is when we had the displeasure of meeting manager Antonio. He did not care about what happened nor the situation. He disregarded us completely just wanted us to get a refund and get out of the store. He even had the nerve to walk away mid sentence which made the whole situation that much worse. My husband was very upset but never once disrespected this man nor insulted him. Antonio then made the situation personal when it wasn’t in the first place. Even as another employee was doing our refund Antonio was making remarks about being disrespected. At this point Antonio was the only one speaking. What kind of manager does that????? A manager should know how to handle irate customers and situations calmly and respectfully. Antonio does not know anything about customer service or about management.
My family has been coming to this store for the last 10 years and has never been treated this badly. I hope someone important reads this because Antonio is ruing the the reputation of this store and of the name Fresco Y Mas.
When you shop here please double check what you are purchasing because this store is falsely advertising their meat!!!

Normally I’ve been to other fresco y mas stores and ask to please have the balance on card checked and the associates help me out I swipe my card they give me a small receipt with the benefits available on the card. So come yesterday I wanted to the same thing to make sure of what was available on the card before having the cashier scan everything to avoid going through any hassle just in case the benefits weren’t on the card or whatever the case might have been. I ask the casher TERESITA politely to please check my wic card balance, and with a very nasty attitude she says she cannot do that , that isnt how it goes, the balance will be on the receipt once she scans everything and I pay. I proceed to tell her well you might not want to dont tell me you CANT, and she get going it and being completely rude when i was never rude to her. Whoever the manager is and whoever trains these employees make sure you train them right and make sure when you hire them that they do watch their training videos because I am a former employee of fresco y mas not this particular store but another one, first a cashier then supervisor and never in the almost two years I worked there did I deny help to any customer, very rude and upfront from your cashier, yes she can check my balance on my card because I used to do it for customers and other employees at other stores do it for my every so often, so go ahead and make sure your employees are enthusiastic to work and willing to help people because this is what customer service is all about. Read moreFresco & Mas is a new supermarket model for the prevailing latino population in this area. They kept the same good employees from Winn-Dixie and they are eager to please. Great attitude from the ladies in the back cafeteria very helpful. A great plus: a huge parking lot with no stress parking! From the parking lot up everything looks great with fresh coat of paint, new carts, signage,etc. It's clean, bins and shelves are all stocked up with products. Most noticeable is the produce department with much more of the fruits and root vegetables (like potatoes) malanga, boniatos all piled up on tables, very farmer's like show. Prices have gone down, way down from the Winn Dixie model, this will get my wife to probably buy most or all her groceries here, mainly due to price. New services like other Cubano type supermarkets where you can have Argentinian type baked (not fried) empanadas, sweet pastelitos and they look supersized too. Fresh latin food, by the pound, to go or sit down in a small area with two long tables and chairs and eat there. Breakfast, a nice fast snack with cortadito. cafe con leche? They have the heavy duty espresso machine for it. Since there are not immediate cuban type bakeries nearby, this service should prove very popular also.
