I asked employee if they had a shirt in a certain size. She looked and said that they did not since it was marked down on sale. Shirt was priced at $19.99 but came up $39.99 when checking out. I was then told it was marked wrong on the tag and I the told cashier that employee told me it was on sale and then the cashier asked for the managers assistance. Manager looked at me and stated "if it was on sale it would be outside" as if I should have known that when obviously the staff wasn't even aware. She then walked over and grabbed ths stack of shirts off the shelf. I stopped talking, paid for the several items I was purchasing and walked out.
It is not the point of the price that bothered me, it was the attitude I was addressed with when all I asked was why it came up double what it said on the tag. I was talked down to in front of my wife, kids and several other customers.

Read moreThis review is for my visit on Monday, October 20, 2025. I had planned this vacation to Mt. Rainier not knowing we would have a government shutdown — Which would impact not only the national park, but any gift shops in the area. This is the only gift shop open as of October 20. I stood before the register, in front of her face, for a little bit before she even looked up to acknowledge me. It’s like she didn’t even wanna be there or she has some sort of attitude. I said I’m grateful you guys are open. She’s like yeah. I asked if there was a bag for my items and she said only the tote bags we sell. That was it. This was a fun shop… but if she doesn’t want to be there, then she should find another job because her attitude sucked… and that vibe was felt...
Read moreWe visited this store a few times during our stay in Cougar Rock Campground. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, everything was overpriced. Especially $15 for a bundle of firewood was striking (low quality wood). Been in many National Parks, never seen that expensive firewoods, that was unpleasant. Please bring your own firewood, they sell a few miles from the park entrance. They sell hiking tools as well if you want to do some serious hikes. Can find limited cold foods as well. I think good to have the store in the park for urgent needs, but would come to the park prepared in the...
