Absolutely one of the most beautiful places I have been as a life long Washingtonian!! How I wish it hadn't taken me this long to get there-it is a must see!! There are three gorgeous campgrounds along Cascade River Road (the road you take at the edge of Marblemount to get there)-Mineral Park West and Mineral Park East (closer to the pass than the other one) are divided by a stunningly beautiful and picturesque creek, for those who want to make more than a day trip out to this area. I do believe you may have to pack in your own water at those campgrounds-be sure to check ahead! The road is paved for about the first 8 miles or so, then becomes primitive. Some parts are very very narrow and make passing a challenge. There are other trailheads along this road before you get to Cascade Pass, too, and parking for those can fill up quickly, as can the lot at the end of Cascade Pass. PLEASE be aware that if you make the drive to the pass on a hot day, there is a very good chance your transmission will be running pretty hot when you get to the parking area, and that upper area has little to no late morning- mid day shade in summer. You don't want to break down up there-make sure your transmission fluid is up to par before you head out, and keep an eye on that transmission temperature gauge-be prepared to potentially pull over and let your car cool down if the temps outside are 80's plus. This drive is beautiful, and worth every second. Lots of daisies and foxglove and asters line the road in summer, and this can just be a drive for a non-hiker, and then hiking opportunities at the pass and below for hikers, and mountaineering level climbing for those with the proper skills and gear and knowledge of these peaks and their summer/fall hazards. There are vault toilets at the Pass parking lot; please be aware they aren't pumped too often due to remoteness...Hikers and climbers are asked to bring blue bags to handle doing your business out on those alpine trails! You will want sunglasses, sunscreen, probably mosquito repellent if you plan to hike, and...

The beautiful meadows and mountains are surrounding you, what a beautiful feeling it will be? I could live the views fully but I wish I could spend more time. Colorful meadows were very beautiful and could see few glaciers on the mountains. You can see beautiful views from the parking area itself but hiking to cascade pass is one kind of beautiful experience. Looking forward to...

Such an incredible hike. The views are unbelievable. My third time. Not crazy difficult, but more challenging than a lot of the comments indicate. Definitely not for the out-of-shape couch potato, IMO. I wanted to go all the way to Sahale Arm, but my teen kids and friend were struggling to make it just to the overlook. So...
