Ok so starting this off I have to say I'm an enthusiastic climber, who was looking for a place to introduce my sisters to climbing. I'm by no means a prissy fancy pants kind of guy. Im a Marine traveling through the area, visiting family, and I'm certainly used to not having the best of the best of everything lol. I'm also not giving this place 2 stars because it is small or the high proportion of non-deodorant wearers here (obviously the two makes for an uncomfortable combination). They do well with the space they have, and it's not like you're going to do a pit check for everyone who walks in. Though AC might have helped. So I'm giving 2 stars mainly for one reason, cluttered routes. These walls are PACKED with routes, which could be ok, if they were organized properly. But they aren't. They don't have enough rock colors or tape colors, which means they have to have multiple different routes next to each other using the same tape or rock colors. The tape in many places is falling off, and very often does not clearly show where to start or how to start the problem. It's confusing enough for a veteran like me, and mind boggling for a beginner. I get that it's a small gym. And the only one around. But they really need to A. Clean up the routes. B. Get more colors so they aren't reusing the same ones next to each other. And C: properly mark the start of the routes. If you're a local and are all about local pride (I get it), or a really advanced climber, you'll be fine here. But if you're a beginner or have the ability to drive around, I would probably not recommend this gym.

Rock Quarry in Roseville better. Great to have this place locally and they supply chalk bags . Great concept but painful for my kids hands And my kids reported shoes provided were uncomfortable. Maybe if we had our own shoes to use. My kids don't want to go back but there were kids there that were really enjoying it! The staff and Desmond was most excellent with the kids and parents

This place is awesome. The staff are incredibly helpful and the pricing seems really reasonable in comparison to the other gyms in the area. They offer lots of classes and a membership gets you 24 hr access!

This place is actually pretty cool. Definitely focused a little more on bouldering (which is fine) and seems as if they are trying to add more things such as a campus board and spot to train crack climbing. Staff is nice as well

My only complaint is that If you’re not a member they make it really tough to climb here. 5pm - 10pm on weekdays is ridiculous. I work in grass valley, but live in Sac and would love to pop in for a climb after work, but waiting until 5pm for them to open just isn’t worth it. Even on the weekends its still 1pm - 5pm. Im sure the 24 hour access is great for members but the small windows for non members is lame honestly. Im already a member at another gym so getting another membership isn’t in the cards

Guess I just have to stick to Granite, pipe works and Boulder field. Hopefully I can catch the public access hours on the weekend some time.

Edit: Thank you for the response and clarification. Good to know you guys are looking to expand the hours if funds will allow it. I’ll definitely be back! I wish you guys the...

We just had our sons seventh birthday party at this facility. I can’t express how much good feedback I’ve heard from everyone. From all ages from a three year old to adults, they had a great time. The staff was diligent, and very in control of the class which made it a wonderful experience. The timeframe for food and gifts is a little short with not a lot of room, but completely understandable and doable. I’m hoping to return to the gym to experience it again on my own as well as...
