I’ve had a home theater setup since 1997 that I put together myself. In March of 2018 I decided that it was time to upgrade my equipment. After extensive researching, I purchased a Marantz AV receiver, Bowers & Wilkens main & center channel speakers and two SVS SB16 Ultra subwoofers. I felt I knew a lot about home theater design and equipment setup, but I thought I would find an expert to verify my new setup. Searching the internet, I came across Sound Investments and was pleased to find they were a local company. My home theater is a large, mixed-use area; one half being theater the other half our dining room which is surrounded by large windows. My current layout was not conducive to a true theater room set-up and so Randy assisted me with recommendations to make my situation more ideal. I placed sound panels in specific areas, painted my acoustic ceiling and we discussed options for the existing window coverings which would all assist in holding down any excess reflections. These things were making such a difference, my wife and I decided to investigate in changing out our recliners. Randy suggested that we contact Octane Seating in Wheatridge that sells solely home theater seating and we purchased three motorized recliners through Sound Investments. Randy came and set them up, did all the electrical hookups that was needed and carried off the numerous boxes. It was great! I thought I was all set. Nope, Randy informed me now that the room is finished, we had one more thing to do which was to balance out the subs or base management. We enjoyed our new theater for a week then Randy returned with his precise omni directional microphone. We were reviewing the results of the subs on his laptop software and observing how they interacted with my room acoustics. Within an hour and a half, we had adjusted my subs to match the room. We were both very impressed at how we were able to get an almost flat bass frequency response using the parametric equalizer controls app on my cell phone for the sub adjustments. I can confirm for a fact what Randy did made a huge difference in my existing theater room because the first time my wife heard our completed setup- who is not a sound buff- said WOW that does make a difference, that really sounds good! I am completely satisfied with Sound Investments and Randy’s professionalism. We recently moved into a house with a large entertainment room in the basement, perfect for a TV and sound system. After getting quotes from several companies, we were impressed most with the professional advice from Sound Investments. The previous home owners had wiring for a surround sound system already installed, but the wires did not connect as they appeared to. Randy was diligent in determining where the wires led, and corrected the layout. Then he mounted 2 TVs, installed a complete surround sound system, took his time to be sure the system worked perfectly, and helped me understood how to use all of the components.
