UPDATE 10/15, WERE TOLD PROPANE TANKS WERE FULL, TURNED ON HEAT, EMPTY. INCREDIBLE.
ABSOLUTE WORST DEALER!!! PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE A POTENTIAL BUYER! LONG BUT WORTH THE READ!
We bought our camper (3rd one) sight unseen, from North Canton location. We knew it was the layout that we were looking for and could not find that same layout closer to us in Pittsburgh. Connor our salesman did a FaceTime video of the unit once it arrived. Very clean on the inside with no issues. Not the same on the outside. They played the game that there were other eyes on it and we would have to put down $5,000 to hold it. So we did hold it with $2,000 down. The advertised price was $21,999. Then they added a $2000 prep fee, which is unjustifiable. The only thing they did to this camper was clean the awning. We could've done that a lot cheaper ourselves. The gentleman that did the demo didn't know how the thermostat worked, my husband basically had to show him. The sheet on the bed, the previous owner must have left on and it was spotted. You would think they would've taken that off. I believe they didn't because they were hiding marks on the mattress or once again no one even cleaned the inside. Here are the items we addressed on the outside and think for $2000 we should not have had to address them? Some taken care of, some not. Again, Chris the manager was not willing to negotiate. Stopper behind door was missing, screw exposed, they did put a stopper on. Two of the four tires were bigger than the other two, Chris said he has to go with what his service guy tells him. My nephew owns a tire shop. My husband also knows tires very well. After driving two hours to get back home, my nephew took off the tires, all four belts were broken. Thank goodness, we didn't need the spare because that was in worse shape than the tires. Where is their concern for safety? Whichever service guy said those tires were fine should be fired. The tires were from 2018. It was a 2019 camper. Right arm on awning bent, we were told by a very rude serviceman that even the new RV's have the same issue. PLEASE, REALLY??? Also, awning had a rip at the top and was taped. Again, no negotiating. There was a missing part for the stabilizer. Connor said it was on order only to find out later that the gentleman from service told us he would order it, (thought it was on order). We now must put that on ourselves. Missing cap on the bumper storage tube, they did replace that. Screws were missing on the cover and the front of the camper where the leveling power button is. Fortunately, they had screws and did replace that. I understand that there is a prep fee for $2000 but I would love to know what they did for $2000 when we had ourselves had to address all of these issues. The most frustrating is that we've had to put on four new tires when they knew those tires were bad. After emails to Corporate and phone calls, no resolution only to be told that they have denied the claim and that is the final decision. I would never recommend the General Rv or the North Canton General RV center. I highly doubt that Chris or the serviceman that said the tires were fine would have driven two hours with those tires. Yes, we had our choice to not buy the camper but at that point they had our $2000 and we really liked the layout. Also, Chris had set the price at $24,918 without even seeing the camper. So when we addressed the issues he was not willing to negotiate Please corporate do not respond to this email by apologizing and telling me how you understand my frustrations, and how I can reach out to you, which I have already done and you or the location have done nothing to resolve the issues. Only to tell me that the final decision has been made to not reimburse of for the tires. The follow ups to other reviews should have told me from the get-go that I should not deal with that location. I do take blame. I did not do my due diligence and read the reviews which I always do before buying a product. Lesson learned! Hope this helps others who are considering buying...
Read moreSince I bought my travel trailer from them they promised to fix stuff and didn't fix all that they said they would. Just told me that so they can sell the camper. I dropped it off to them a few times and it sat in there lot for months. Got a flat tire that they were trying to.make me pay for it which I told them it's brand new and happened on your lot. They eventually did replace it. But when stuff is to get repaired by them a lot of the repairs are done poorly . Now since my warranty is up I been having to go through and re fix the stuff they done. I talked over the repairs that were needing attention on with the manager and he told me to bring it back in the winter and they would fix the problems. I brought it back in winter and go figure all a sudden they don't have the approved work order to fix some of the areas and said they didn't have the approval. Which is bull. He told me to my face he would take Care of the issues that where first reported the day I went to purchase my camper. They said go ahead and use it and bring it back and we will fix it. Now I have trim falling off inside and they marked my counter top with a hammer or something heavy. This was the first weekend using it since they had it and now Iam seeing all the hacked up stuff they have done. I am ocd on the stuff I own because it's a lot of money and I work hard ever month to make my payments and this is what I get in return. I get that some stuff was from the factory which there not much better but between the two of them they could of helped out the customer. I don't ask for much but when Iam paying out a lot of money that I really don't have I just want what I pay for. Tired of always the run around and the lying. Can't stand liars and that was the last straw when they told me they didn't have the paper work. Then I asked for the manager and they always gave me a excuse of why he couldn't talk to me. It's because he feed me a bunch of bull and couldn't be a man to face me. It's funny how nice they are in the process of buying one there but when it's there time to take care of issues there Demeter changes. The one girl that worked there before was awesome and really helped me out and felt bad what I was going through. Funny how she quit that place due to the bull they tell people and promise and don't follow through on most. Next time I will go to walburg RV. They seem honest and I like Mark. I hate to be like this towards busines reviews but Iam still heated from the way they lied to me. As I sit in my 2022 rv that is barely used and fixing stuff that I shouldn't even have to lift a finger for it pay for it to get fixed. It should be taking care of for the over priced travel trailer I purchased from general RV . I don't need to hear were sorry for your experience with us. At least we know how to better are selves. This is a on going issues and know a bunch of people going or went through this with you. You want to make this right then give me back my 15k deposit I gave you which I am wasting on fixing this and making new like it was supposed to. You and keystone can talk it out and pay me. Both are probably good friends and always screwing over people who work hard and trying to buy something nice to make memories with his son. But instead working on it more then enjoying. Hopefully you can clean house and get some actual caring workers that also take pride in there work and...
Read moreThe General RV in North Canton, OH has terrible customer service and their word can not be trusted when it comes to promises made for repairing an RV once the unit is purchased.
On 09/29/2022, we drove to the North Canton, Ohio from Maryland (8 hours one way and overnighted in a hotel at our cost) for our scheduled meeting on 9/30 to purchase and pickup our RV.
On 09/30/2022 at 9AM, we arrived and were meet with puzzling looks. After about a half hour, Jason spoke to us telling us that the unit were purchasing was damaged and had to be returned to the factory for repairs. Jason and others said they had been trying to reach us since late thursday 9/29 afternoon and seemed completely unaware that we were traveling from Maryland, even though they had all the paperwork for the purchase in hand, including a copy of our Driver's licenses and home address with contact numbers.
We had to ask to look at the unit since we traveled 8 hours to Ohio and noticed other items that also needed to be addressed as well as the slide. Since the slide was not functioning we were only able to review some areas but not the whole unit (Master bedroom). We developed a list of items to be repaired with Dylan from Jason's team. We were told that once the factory repaired only the slide, they would return the unit to Ohio for Ohio office to address and fix the additional items.
From the time we left on 9/30/2022 until 10/10/2022, we were in constant communication with Jason's team and were assured many, many times the items would be fixed as discussed. Items to be repaired/addressed (Table in rear area broken, Wall seams had bubbles, we asked about the steps off the ramp patio and were told they should be included, the seal on front was pulling away, ECP coating (inside and out) paid prior to arrival, winterization).
On 10/10/2022 we were told the unit was back at the North Canton, OH location and all the items were completed. The RV was leaving the shop on 10/11 to be delivered to us in Maryland. I asked if the repairs had been completed and was told yes.
On 10/11/2022 the RV arrived around 8PM at our home, since it was dark we were not able to confirm the issues were repaired, so the driver stayed overnight locally.
10/12/2022 we looked at the RV with the driver to confirm the slide was able to extend and retract. However none of the other items were addressed or repaired. The Ohio office instructed the driver to perform the winterization in our driveway since they failed to do this before it left Ohio.
Since there was many items that still needed to be repaired, it was discussed and agreed that the unit would be taken to the closest facility to our home, General RV in Richmond, VA.
Since the unit was taken to Richmond, the parts the North Canton, Ohio office were supposed to order were never ordered. I have made many calls, left message, and sent emails to Delivery Process team, Jason, Dylan, and even to one of the managers, Dave Hines, with no return response. It has been 4 months since we purchased the RV from the General RV in North Canton, Ohio. To this date the repairs have not been completed due in part to the Ohio office management's lack of communication and ability to take ownership of their promise to perform the repairs as the said they would.
I finally escalated this to the Wixom, MI office, they are currently working with the Richmond team to complete...
