Royalty Roofing is the kind of company that one use to expect or even demand from their service providers, but nowadays you almost never get. Most of us are guilty of lowering our expectations, especially in areas of our lives that involve, contractors, customer service providers, insurance companies, food service and truth be told nearly every facet of our daily lives. It wasn't always like that, but these days if we didn't lower our expectations, we would all walk around angry and frustrated most of the time.
So when Royalty Roofing offered to come out and have a look at my roof after a serious wind storm in our area, my hopes and my expectations were low to middling. Man was I wrong! Royalty Roofing has so far exceeded my highest expectations These are guys who are not only in tune with the roofing industry, they're in tune with their clientele. They're honest, hardworking and do what they say they'll do. And they've somehow managed to hire a group of guys who instinctively get it and who a business owner can trust to go out as hourly employees and represent their business the same way that they would if the owner were standing right beside them. They are genuinely interested in the best outcome for you and I and they take pride in their work, no matter what rung of the ladder they may be on, and that is a quality very few individuals or businesses posses nowadays.
Truth be told my wife and I thought there was no way we were going to get our roof replaced by our insurance, but we said okay to coming out and having a look based on the kind gentleman who insisted that we were selling ourselves short, and lo and behold we're getting a new roof for just the cost of our deductible! And it was because of the extra attention that that same nice man who convinced us to have it evaluated in the first place, put into the task of inspecting my roof and determining if there was a claim there, put into it. Not only did he come out and evaluate the roof and chronicle the damage, he sat down with me and called my insurance company and personally filed the claim at my kitchen table. He coordinated and made sure he was out here when my insurance adjuster came to look at the roof and walked him through every step, making the adjuster's job easier and him to feel welcome and at ease, which I can imagine is not always the case when an adjuster is at a home. So now not only am I getting a new roof out of this deal but I sent them over to my neighbors who had made up his own mind that he too stood no chance of a roof and is now having a $20,000 roof replaced for just his deductible.
This is a guy that I can't say enough good things about, Greg Snyder is the kind of employee that every company dreams of being lucky enough to maybe get one or two of them in its lifetime. Greg puts people at ease, he makes you feel like his best friend, and makes you want him to want to be your friend. You instinctively trust Greg and know that he's going to do not just what's best for everybody in the room but what's right. His honesty and sincerity, and his fun and positive personality is contagious. And if that's not enough believe it or not Greg knows his stuff he's not just a salesman who learned the correct terms he's a roof guy, he's a contractor who knows what he's talking about he knows what to look for and he's a great advocate to have on your side. I can't say enough good things about Royalty Roofing, and I can't say a single bad thing. I've been more than impressed and will give out their name and refer them for years to come. It's good to know that companies and great people...
Read moreI am one that hates to say negative things about a company. My experience with this company has been so bad that I feel obligated to warn others that they may be taken advantage of. If you choose to go with this company, make sure anything that is verbally communicated to you by a sales representative is recorded and documented. They will promise you the world and not deliver. The colors that we had discussed with the sales representative were not what was ordered. We were willing to compromise and accept the main color offered. They did replace the accent color but it came with many headaches. We were repeatedly told two weeks, after 2 weeks no one called or showed. We called the office, we were told 2 more weeks. Then we were told 2 more weeks. Then a manager called to ask why I “keep calling”. She then said that I was wrong about 2 weeks (despite that is what I was repeatedly told) and that the siding would take 6 weeks. She then (more than once) told me she would call back when it arrived, but I had to call her each time. When we were quoted for siding, we were made to believe that the siding would cover all of our old siding. When the installers were done, there was a gap between the top of the siding to our roof of several inches. It was allowing water and debris to go behind the new siding. The installer told us that the trim that needs to go along the top was not on the order. When we called the office they sent the salesman back out. He told us yes, this looked incorrect and that he would get it taken care of. He took pictures and left. We never heard back from him. When I discussed it with the people over the phone, they had no idea what I was talking about. They then told me to discuss it with the installer. The installer said he did his job and it was not on the work order. So now I have an incomplete job. The salesman (Brandon) apparently left items off our order and now we are left trying to figure out how to fix the situation. We were told we were getting a complete siding job and paid expecting a complete job. We picked this company based off of what we were told. Why would we pay 17k for an incomplete install? We have been dealing with this since February. It's now September.
*update #1 they told me that it was impossible to fix it and no one would. I told them I had found a reputable contractor to do the job in 15 minutes. So they did reimburse me to pay him to do the work they couldn't.
Overall, my experience with Royalty Roofing was very good, however I will mention a couple things that I was not happy with. The roof turned out fantastic and I was very happy with the way it turned out. I was very happy with the quality of the work and the manner in which the roof was completed in a timely manner. My sales rep Blake was fantastic and made this process easy for me to get started and completed. Tayte in the office was very helpful and answered a lot of questions I had. As this is my first home, I was very pleased with the level of customer service that Royalty provided me with, as I was very nervous about this project. My old roof was always a stress I had any time there was rain or a high wind storm, so having this new roof done by Royalty is great peace of mind.
Now for my complaints. I got blocked into my garage after the work was completed. I did not expect a trailer to be left in my driveway overnight, and the contract read to me that the trailer would be in the driveway during the job, not afterwards. I had parked my car in the garage to get it out of the way of the workers, and I wasn't worried about leaving during the job as I worked from home the day of the job. However, I had plans after the job was done. When I was getting ready to leave, I came outside and was greeted by a large trailer blocking my way. I heard the roofers start their truck to leave, and I ran out and flagged them down. I told them that I needed to get out of my garage as their trailer was blocking my way, and I needed to get to work the next morning to drive out of town. Their response, while sitting in their running truck, was "Call your sales rep." Tried explaining to them my situation and I had no way to get to work or go anywhere with this large trailer in my way and again they said "Call your sales rep" and left. I was dumbfounded. So I called Blake, and he graciously arranged for someone to move the trailer out of the way that evening, which was much appreciated. He was as surprised as I was with the worker's response. The only negative to this was I had to clean up a large quantity of nails that were under the trailer after it was moved, and I had to cancel my plans I had with a friend that evening, but it is what it is. I was more angry at the worker's lack of care over leaving a large trailer in my way, especially when he had a 1 ton truck that could have very easily moved it out of my way in a matter of minutes. I get it, they worked long hours doing the roof job, but that doesn't mean I should be inconvenienced by their rush to get home. When I walked around my house after the roof was done, I found a razor blade left over in the yard. This must have been missed by the magnet. It is a small thing, and I expected there to be some cleanup I would need to do after the work was done, but I wanted to mention this.
Overall, I am happy to have the peace of mind with a good, quality roof. Thanks to Blake for taking care of everything, especially with the rude worker, and to Tayte for helping to follow up with me and answer...
