Excellent example of what cooperation between disc golfers and local parks can accomplish by working together. This course is wonderfully maintained, thoughtfully designed, and appreciated by the local disc golf community. For the most part it is self-policed by the many players who frequent the course and while it is rare to be totally alone while playing, it is just as rare to be waiting on tees. Each hole is very different than either the one before or the one after with a good mix of lengths and terrains. The course has been around long enough to have developed well-defined pathways through the trees and it’s very difficult to lose your way from hole to hole. No bias in left and right hand turns among the 18 holes and no impossible shots required to make birdie or better on any one hole. Litter and vandalism is at a minimum and almost immediately rectified when it does occur. I have found an overwhelmingly large percentage of players here are considerate and helpful and friendly. The course is far enough from town that there is no incidental traffic of any kind, yet no more than 10 minutes from either downtown or the main drag. There are a couple of things that could use improving though, and you should be warned before heading out. There is no water on site, make sure you bring enough fluids for your entire party especially in the blazes of summer. The is A (as in one) porta-potty located at the parking lot. We all can imagine that sometimes even the best of these “facilities” are so unpleasant that use is limited to worst case scenarios only. This is most definitely true here. Also, there are no structures present to provide shelter in inclement weather so be prepared to bolt for your vehicle if showers pop up. If you’re on the back half, you could be soaked by the time you make it to the parking lot. Overall an outstanding place to spend an hour or two, or an entire day. No cost to play and no...
Read moreMy absolute favorite disc golf course in the state. I've played quite a few... more than 100, but this by far is the best around. It seems that the majority of golf courses around are built on some pretty sketchy grounds. I've played at old garbage dumps, places that have standing water on fairways year round, flooded and muddy holes even in minimal rain. But Flatrocks... this place is emaculately maintained year round, rarely any flooded holes, and just the most beautiful property in Ohio. Kudos to the LDGA for everything they do to bring this disc golf course the attention it deserves. 12...
Read moreStunning course that can be played until snow covers it. The first set of holes is played in and around trees, then it opens up to field play. The last few holes challenge you sitting on hillsides. The course is very well maintained, every hole has a marker with clear direction. Trash cans and benches at every hole keep it clean and comfortable. This is my favorite...
