Disgusting food ! I'll never eat there again The filet of haddock is nothing more than minced fish microwaved The baked potato was black brown and had a smell to it I asked to have cottage cheese to replace it and instead they insisted another baked potato she cut it open and said here is a fresh one and it was worse than the first one black brown! They're sauteed mushrooms is nothing more than canned mushrooms The hamburger was coarse ground and was very strong tasting and I'd still like to know how a fish fillet dinner that was $13 on the menu and the specialty hamburger was $10 on the menu The drinks are $3.29 or 3.39 a piece and our bill came out to $38!!! When we got our check it was a straight out $35 plus tax which was $2 and something why wasn't it broke down so we know what we were paying for. So disgusted arguing with them over bad food, We just paid the bill and left. Smh

Fabulous stone hearth baked pizza with a home made dough and sauce.New York strips are locally fed, raised, and processed at Bay packing all in Fairfield county. Hash browns are shredded daily as well as their baked and hand scooped potato skins. In house made dressings are the perfect topping to a side salad filled with spinach, lettuce , sliced tomatoes, and croutons.Everything served compliments another item. Our families tradition well over 55 years.Hidden up on a scenic hill if you choose patio seating Tuesday thru Sat opening at 4 pm.Closed Sunday and Monday @ 1500 N High St Lancaster, Ohio.Hop on Castaways fb page for any and all updates.

My wife and I stumbled upon this place as we were driving through the area. Now I’ll warn you, it is off the beaten path and just when you’re about to give up and turn around, just keep going haha! When we arrived we were seated promptly. The hostess and server were very friendly and quick. My wife ordered the chopped steak and I had the Ribeye. Both were cooked correctly and had a good flavor. The ribeye did have a little gristle and some tough spots to it but overall it wasn’t bad. We both got salad, and green beans which were good as well. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and will plan to come back and try something different.

To give this place even one star is being generous. What an absolutely dreadful experience. Wait staff was rude, dismissive, let is stand waiting to be seated while they stood talking about their shoe sizes. Finally seated. Ordered potato skins as appetizers. $10 for six(actually 3 cut in half) which were obviously frozen. Next, $31 a piece for two ribeye dinners. Two sides, a salad with spoiled blue cheese dressing, and grilled onions swimming in a vat of oil. Frozen, crinkle cut French fries...no dinner rolls- no bread, they finally gave us one hamburger bun(!) as a roll. Both steaks were supposed to be Medium well, but were virtually half raw. I guess if you ask for a rare steak, you better plan on going out back and butchering the cow yourself. Take your plate, knife and fork. Steaks were supposed to 16Oz. At best they were maybe 10oz precooked. Took the steaks home to cook them ourselves.. . Bill arrives after we'd basically given up on trying to eat the mess that was our "dinner". $86 bucks. Must be some kind of new math-31+31+10=72 so unless 1 beer and 1 iced tea cost an additional 14 bucks, somethings wrong here. After leaving a rather obligatory tip-$100 for two people. Worst dining experience ever from start to finish. Still paying for it today, via non stop runs to the bathroom due to the half raw, spoiled mess that was dinner. Save your time, money and stomach. Go to Sav a lot, who has great meats, Texas Roadhouse (where they actually have dinner rolls),Applebee's or anywhere but this dive. What a giant...

I love the atmosphere except for how close tables are. It feels like you’re on top of the people around you and trying to have a conversation with the people you are eating with can be difficult without speaking very loudly. We went during the evening rush hour so they were extremely busy but there was no wait for a table. The service was good, the only issue we had was when they brought out our food, they combined me and my husbands pizza order( i wanted a cheese pizza with half banana peppers, he wanted just pep), when they brought out the pizza it ended up being a pep pizza with half banana peppers. They were quick to fix the issue except when my cheese pizza came out after eating a piece it came to my attention that they did not remove the parchment paper from my pizza dough. So they put the marinara sauce and cheese onto of the parchment paper and then was the crust. Our waitress explained that they do everything in house and use parchment paper to separate the dough for each pizza. This was for my husband and I birthday dinner, they were extremely apologetic and ended up giving us our meals free ( something we didn’t request and insisted on paying). We will definitely be returning to try other things...

Stopped in this local restaurant on New Years Eve for dinner. They were busy as most restaurants are on NYE. They had a small table for 4 in the center of the crowded room and two tables for 8 open on the perimeter of the room. My family of 4 asked to sit at one of the tables for 8, and the owner/waitress declined. The tables were not reserved, they simply wanted to save them for larger parties. So we left and went to another local restaurant. It was unfortunate because we have wanted to try this restaurant for a while, and we enjoy dining out often. When I attempted to discuss this incident by commenting on one of their Facebook posts, the owner stood behind her decision, which is fine, but then she deleted the comments and blocked me from their FB page. Nothing derogatory was stated for the comments to be removed. I'm guessing she was embarrassed. But it also solidifies my decision not to return...
