Unfortunately, this yearâs Howard County 4-H Fair was nothing short of disappointing. There was very little on display that actually showcased the hard work of the kids involved in 4-H, which is supposed to be the heart of the event. I didnât see a single show animal on displayâsomething youâd absolutely expect at a 4-H fair. The merchant building felt more like a political rally than a community showcase. Instead of featuring local businesses and products, it was dominated by political boothsââvote for thisâ and âvote for thatââwhich added nothing to the fair experience. As for food, the options were your typical overpriced fair fare: weak lemon shake-ups and greasy fried biscuits. Most vendors didnât even seem to be local, which was another letdown when this couldâve been an opportunity to support the community. To top it all off, parking was a mess. I spent more time trying to park and walk to the gate than I did at the fair itself. And yes, thereâs a charge to park on site. All in all, it felt like a poorly organized event with little to offer. Definitely not worth the time, effort, or money. Hereâs hoping future years return to what this fair is supposed to be about: the kids, the community,...
Read moreSo we been going there 30 years and they have had a few contract carnie companies that had toddler rides. We have noticed that last cpl years this year the worst. No rides at all for toddlers under 36 inches. This to include no rides even a toddler could ride with adult. Hey guys lets remember the fair is a family event not just meant for the teeny boppers to have fun. Took our 2 grand kids and the youngest 2 couldnt ride a single ride there. Thats just not right and the tickets are getting way out of hand as well this year was 22 for $25. Thats a little inflated considering the rides only last 3-4 minutes average a dollar a minute for a stupid ride. Think our family may just start skipping Greentown go to the state fair in indy. Just think greed got the better...

Some lines like the himilaya were even so long we decided not to wait as we would have gotten to ride even less. To make things worse as another reviewer said they cut you off right at 10PM on bracelets doesn't matter how far ahead of the line you are. It would be ok if you wanted to ride earlier but who want to ride when it's daylight and nothings lit up? Other than that the food is outrageously priced as is to be expected of fair food but it is amazing and if you look hard enough you can find things a lot cheaper at...
