I reserve the right to increase my rating based on future performance. My parent's got a whole home energy efficiency makeover, and there has been headache after headache since then. Since my Dad died, I've started taking over direct contact with the company. I am currently rating the company 3/5 stars, because while I am displeased with the performance of the system, one of their technicians may single handedly turn everything around. Below is quoted from messages I sent to both the Owner and the General Manager: "Your electrician J. C. is an absolute asset to your business. When he showed up, he took his time to review the entire system, listen to all of my complaints and concerns, and showed genuine concern and competency. As a Firefighter and Paramedic that takes my job very seriously, I recognized a kindred spirit. He takes genuine pride and ownership in his profession. He said that he treats these jobs like he's doing them for his mother, which is exactly what I saw reflected in his work, with many of his frustrations echoing my own. After my innumerable frustrations with these system failures, he has given me hope and confidence that he (and thereby you) can correct the problems. He has single handedly turned me from unabashedly negative and critical, to being cautiously optimistic about you being able to correct my problems and take care of my mom and her parents. He reflects well on your organization. I don't know where you found him, but you need a dozen more just like him."
If they turn this man loose, I can have confidence in what gets done to fix my problems.

Read moreOver a year later and they still haven't finished. This has been one of the worst decisions I've made as a homeowner. I was told we would be producing 107% of my power needs, but so far, the best we've gotten is 30%. Since we signed the contract, it's been one thing after another. scheduled installation, no call no show. I had to call the office just to be told they weren't coming. trashed job site, they left trash and tools and parts everywhere. Including caulk guns and an entire spool of wire. Also got the "radiant barrier " paint all over the carpet and walls miswire, I got fined and had my power shut off due to improper wiring of the system radiant barrier incomplete $40k worth of excuses and broken promises, they have sent emails stating that they have a plan to make it right, then I hear nothing for months. Now I am paying $300/month on the financing + paying for electricity from my utility provider. I am now paying almost 3× as much as if I was before solar. Don, the owner, has asked what I can do to reduce my usage, like it's my fault his system isn't producing the promised results. I have replaced my heat pumps with high efficiency, inverter driven models. I have replaced my electric stove with a gas stove. I have added a gas fireplace insert, so I have not run the heat pumps all winter. Essentially, my usage amounts to refrigerator, a few lights and the water heater and well pump. All that said, it shouldn't matter because they did the load calculation with all of my old appliances, and based on the utility bills reflecting that usage. Read moreA very good company to work with. After all the permits and paperwork was complete, they went to work very quickly. I was very pleased with the professional installation of their products. I received new ductwork throughout my home. No more hot and cool spots in my home. I also received new lighting throughout my home. Now everything is low cost led lighting. The net metering is a plus to the solar and the bills are more of an extreme discount than I could have ever imagined. My power bills use to be anywhere from $320 to $189 a month depending on peak A/c or heat season. Now they range from $100 to $9.18 a month. U S Energy Solutions is a very reputable company in my book. They deliver results that exceed expectations. They install quality equipment and take NO shortcuts. Their aim is to make customers feel like family and not just another figure in their checkbook. Even they have to overcome hurdles to get everything to go through, permits and net metering. They deal with the county and power company which most customers can not comprehend the hours needed to get in line and wait for decisions. Nothing is immediate in this world that does not want to wait for noting but they kept me in the loop to let me know of the process and how long it would take. The end result is very rewarding.
