Jenner Lookout Point, situated along California's scenic coastline, offers visitors a straightforward, no-frills vantage point for wildlife observation, notably Pacific harbor seals. This spot is marked by its accessibility and the simplicity of its offering: a clear, unobstructed view of the seals in their natural habitat. Visitors can expect minimal amenities here; the focus is on the natural beauty and the opportunity to observe these marine animals from a respectful distance. There are no interpretive centers or guided tours, making it ideal for those who prefer a self-guided experience. The lookout is a popular stop for travelers seeking to stretch their legs and take in the panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, with the added bonus of watching the seals. The area is typically quiet, with the sounds of the ocean and wildlife dominating the soundscape. It's a good idea to bring binoculars for a closer look at the seals, as well as layers of clothing, as the weather can be unpredictable and often windy. Jenner Lookout Point is a testament to the unadorned beauty of nature, offering visitors a moment of tranquility and a chance to connect with the marine life of the Pacific without the distractions of more commercialized tourist destinations. It's well worth the stop for those traveling along the coast and looking for a genuine, unmediated encounter with wildlife.

I was headed south on Highway 1 on a night lit only by the full moon. When I saw this view I had to stop and set up my tripod to take this shot. I was at the little Jenner Point turnout looking south and captured this view. The moonlight reflecting on the water with just a bit of fog creeping sparingly among the hills was just so striking. This is a beautiful spot at any...
