I called Empress Audio on a Monday (exactly 2 minutes before they closed for the day), just wanting to get some information on having 4 new speakers installed in my truck. I honestly didn't expect for anyone to answer as the day was over and I was sure the employees were ready to walk out the door to get home to their families. But to my surprise a guy named Mike answered. I explained to him what I was needing and asked if it would be better if I called back during (more convenient) business hours, and he quickly assured me that he had no problem helping me out right then!! He was patient and very informative (I am clueless about this kind of stuff) and we made arrangements for me to go see him the following Wed because that was the best time for me. I showed up to the store as we agreed on, asked for Mike and he immediately took over the situation. He listened to my radio and immediately pointed out the exact issue that I was having. We went back into the store and he started speaking a whole bunch of man-glish!!! I'm not fluant in man-glish so after after he spoke for about 15 minutes, all I understood was $2300.00!! I reluctantly asked him if he would mind repeating all of that to my husband (I imagined he had a busy day ahead of him), because my husband also speaks fluant man-glish. Mike explained a bunch of jibber jabber to my husband, my husband was clearly understanding (while sounding slightly disappointed), then my husband said "do it", Mike said, "no problem" and they hung up. I had my sis n law pick me up from the store, picked my truck up the next morning and had a whole entire brand new system, kenwood monitor, Kenwood radio, you name it, I had it!! Have been getting work done at Empress Audio in Gulfport for many years and have had the pleasure of working with Michael Taylor and the rest of them many times. It's a little out of the way for me but I always go back because they're knowledgable and do a great job. Recently decided to go all out and do an entire audio system setup in a car I just got and I knew I had to go there to get their opinions on what I should do to make a great setup and to get the job done right. Well let me tell you I was not disappointed. Mike suggested a setup for me and when it was a bit out of my budget suggested another setup and explained why it would be good for what I wanted. I took the plunge and wow am I glad I did. Sounds incredible, looks great (just like I requested including a subtle sub box in the trunk out of the way of the main trunk area) and I could not be more pleased.
