I wanted to share a quick review after visiting this business over the weekend. My wife found this place through a friend's social media post and I decided to take my son for a "guys night out." I grew up in the 80's so I have been to some of the best arcades around the OKC metro, such as The Gold Mine, Luke Skywalker's Hideout, Jamaica Joe's, Leman's Speedway, Malibu Grand Prix and the Silver Quarter Starcade. I always had an idea to open a retro arcade with all of the classics and music from the 80's. I was hoping for a fun experience. Once we arrived we were greeted by several teenagers muddled around the front door with their cigarettes and vapes blowing around us like clouds. Upon entering there is the front desk to pay the $6 fee and there is a concession counter across the way. The arcade is made up of a ground floor with a variety of older consoles, arcade cabinets and air hockey tables. The upper deck contains some older consoles, like Atari 2600, and there are a handful of Arcade1 Up machines along with a foosball table. We muttered around for about 90 minutes and here are my obervations: Guthrie must not have a mask mandate as the majority of patrons were not wearing masks. Many of the arcade games were damaged and defective. I noticed kids were punching buttons, pulling on joysticks and even kicking some of the cabinets. The games are placed so close together that there is no social distancing. They don't have a lot of space but could benefit from a more efficient layout for the games. Some of the consoles were defective. It did not meet my expectations when I think of a retro arcade. I expected more of the retro games in the original cabinets. I think they are doing their best with what they have available but I don't plan on returning nor recommend...
Read moreThis is a fantastic space for events for families and children. My 6 and 9 year old always have a blast. We also feel very safe there to let them roam. The owners are very attentive and sweet people. The music is family friendly but not hooky.
I, personally, am not a huge arcade game fan but I even find myself hoping around playing shoot 'em ups and enjoying the atmosphere. There is a $6 entry fee but no quarters are required to play. Overall a great deal and we will continue to come back on days that are too hot, too cold, too windy and everything in between. There is no mask mandate in Guthrie BUT the owners and staff all wear masks and there is hand sanitizer stations everywhere. The husband always seems to be cleaning something and the wife is usually monitoring the safety of the guests at the front desk.
My daughter had her 9 year old birthday party here last March and it was fun for all the children not just the...
Read moreMy two teens and I spent several hours at Level Up this afternoon! It was so worth the $6 entry fee to be able to go in and play as much as we wanted. I have to admit, I’m old and totally not a gamer. My plan was to go in, find a place to charge my phone, and sit while my boys played games. The owner was very kind and explained it’s a $6 entry fee, so I paid. It was worth my kids having fun. But then...then I got roped into playing! It was so fun. My kids and I laughed until I almost cried. It was a perfect bonding time with them. Parents, there are games that we grew up on and they are all over the place at Level Up Arcade. Take your kids. Don’t sit at the table. Go play! We will absolutely be back & we are bringing friends next time. The place is spotless! It would be ideal for birthday parties or church youth groups! In fact, I might have my 47th birthday here! Go. You won’t be...
