I purchased their Deerfield line through one of their distributors. I unknowingly purchased them after passing on the same cabinets (after seeing them in-person) from another one of their distributors. Specifically, my Deerfield Shaker II (framed, maple, all wood construction with plastic corner supports) purchase is equivalent to their Kith Homestead II (frameless, maple with Deluxe option) as listed on all of the shipping documents that they attached to all of my cabinets and accessories. I was sure it had to be some mistake until observing a full scale Homestead II door (showroom mock kitchen) immediately adjacent to one of my Deerfield Shaker II, and comparing pictures of the Homestead II hinges/drawer slides/dovetail construction/plastic supports/shelves to the cabinet boxes in my home. In any case, all nine (9) large shipments of 11 total shipments had damaged items, bad paint jobs (i.e. uneven paint, insufficient layers of paint and finish coat, random fingerprints below/above finish coat, missing finish coat with rough paint coat, wrong paint color), multiple peeling veneer edges on shelves, crookedly assembled cabinets that either could not be leveled/plumbed/flush or would not back to other island cabinets, absurd number of warped/bowed panels and doors (including decorative doors), warped/bowed filler, missing chunks of wood whereby thin staples were used to “secure” structure, hanging rails barely secured to boxes, and the list goes on. Just outright disappointing and mind-boggling how poor their “quality” control was/is. Their packaging was/is just as bad although they readily blamed their shippers for damage that had been painted over (paint not disturbed), crushed corners and splitting plys (6 of 8 refrigerator panels...8 of 8 were unusable, meaning a simple re-paint was not possible given damage) when they wrap panels in non-corrugated cardboard that is extremely thin from freight shipments and use flimsy corner “protectors”, scraped paint and dents whereby exterior packaging showed no correlation and items were wrapped, and, again, the list goes on. At just under a total of 40 large items shipped to attempted to satisfy line items for the only 16 total large items in my order, approximately 25% of these items had to be replaced at least once and 33% of the same large items being replaced between two (2) and 7 (seven) times; these numbers do not include warped doors or accessories. I originally believed that issues may have been a result of their insufficient packaging and literally extended multiple recommendations for shoring up packaging from a transport vibe perspective and, general, surface protection perspective but as quality worsened considerably with each shipment received, it became clear that quality control at their facility is in dire need of some drastic improvements. My family and I lived without countertops and sink/garbage disposal/dishwasher/running water in our kitchen for over one year waiting for them to finally satisfy our order, eventually having to expend more unbudgeted funds to heavily modify what was received and have other items custom made. I even had to foot the bill for transport and disposal of the majority of reject items given neither them nor their distributor would retrieve anything as requested multiple times. Given all of the stress and year-long inconvenience caused by their bad quality items, I would certainly never recommend any of their cabinet...
Read moreBelow is the first review I did on my Kith cabinets. After the review first was posted, I received a call from Kith, asking me to reconsider and take my comments down. He said I was affecting the welfare of over a 1000 employees. He said they work very hard to make great cabinets. I explained what happened, and I could tell he basically didn’t believe me. In the mean time, they did replace several of the doors that had bad paint or gauges in them. I also received the full shelves to replace the half shelves, But when I asked my contractor about the useless draw for the vanity, he told me that Kith would only replace the drawer if I took my bad review down. Which is totally wrong and ridiculous. So, to get the mistake fixed, which was not my fault or the contractors fault, I took the below original comments down. After several months, I did indeed get a new drawer, which my contractor put in without charging me. When the drawer was delivered, by FedEx, they refused to bring it to my door, and even refused to bring it too my complex’s front door. Saying Kith did not pay to deliver to the front door. Instead leaving it at the security gate a half mile from my door. It was also raining. My contractor had to drive 30 miles to come pick it up at night, so it wouldn’t sit out in the rain all night. When my contractor installed the drawer, he told me they were no longer doing business with Kith, and neither was the design company we used. I can’t believe this company, they put out shoddy product, and don’t stand behind it to make it right. To say they wouldn’t fix it, until I took my review down was just so wrong.
Original review - Aug 2021 We bought Kith cabinets through a local business. We had a new kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a laundry room remodeled and bought all new cabinets. When we saw these in the showroom, we loved them and were impressed with them. It took 3 months to get the cabinets. When we got them, and our contractor installed them, we were so disappointed in the quality. At least 5 doors were damaged. They had gauges on them and bad paint job. Then at least 6 of the cabinets were not finished on the inside. They were all rough wood. The contractor had to sand them down and then put a clear coat on them. Again, where was the quality control on these? The lower cabinets for pots and pans, the pull out drawer was broken, and we are still waiting on replacement. The shelves on these two cabinets were only half shelves, which is ridiculous, still waiting on full shelves for these two cabinets. One drawer has a broken clip, so drawer couldn’t be used. In the primary bath, we had a large pantry cabinet, inside, the top shelf so rough along the edge, you could easily get a splinter. We also had a vanity built, but the drawer for this is a joke, it’s less than a 1/2 inch. You can’t put anything in it , not even a hair brush. Just disappointed, that there was no quality...
Read moreWe initially placed an order for Kith Cabinets with Cabinet Tree Studio in June of 2021. We received our initial delivery in early September 2021 and were excited to finally get the cabinets installed. Upon inspection of the cabinets and all the accessories we ended up disappointed. Several cabinets were damaged, all the trim was cracked, and 22 doors were nicked and scratched. One of the panels for our island was also a different color than it should have been, and one cabinet came not finished. This was only the beginning of our problems. We found out that most of the replacement items would not arrive until the end of October. When the new items arrived, we were still left with damaged cabinets, doors, and the island panel was still the wrong size. It actually took 5 times....yes 5 different times for the island panel to finally be the correct size and color. Every time they sent it, it was still the wrong one. Eventually, all items were received but a seperate company that was contracted out by Cabinet Tree (where we bought the cabinets from) needed to come to our home to “touch up” the cabinets, which took several hours. Why would brand new cabinets have to be touched up??? After discussing with the cabinet company and the salesperson for Kith about the issues several times, we were directed to talk with Tyler who is the president of sales, who we were told was the owner of Kith Cabinets. My wife was the one that spoke to him on the phone and he was so unprofessional, incredibly rude, and ill-tempered. We wanted a partial refund back for the cabinets that were damaged. My wife could barely get a word in with the amount of yelling this supposed "owner" of the company was doing. He at one point stated that unless you spend about $50,000 or more on kitchen cabinets that we should have expected to need to touch ups on our new cabinets. He then told my wife that he was going to contact the cabinet company we bought them from so they could come to our house and rip out every single cabinet and then he would condiser giving the company some kind of refund, but not us. His concluding comment to my wife was and I quote, "You are what is wrong with America." Fast forward almost 2 years later and we are extremely dissapointed in the quality of these cabinets. I WOULD HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO GO ELSEWHERE AND NOT USE KITH. Unless of course, you follow the directions of the owner and spend $100,000...
