Deckbusters — Local services in Hammond

I found this place from an add one of my buddies sent me and I decided to go check it out. I have to say that the atmosphere and community that the owners have created in a shear matter of days, is absolutely 2nd to none. The owners seemed to be genuinely excited to work and appeal to customer service. Taking on special requests, using local vendors for alot of their product, establishing a community of like minded individuals. While I was there on the 2nd day of opening, I witnessed a family come into the store to explore and check things out. The owner stopped everything he was doing to give the 2 young boys each a small binder to fill with pokemon cards and asked when they finished to come up to the counter so he could give them each two small prizes from his case cards. It was an incredible feeling seeing someone just be genuinely kind to people, its so rare that you see true kindness. Im very happy to say that I will absolutely be calling this card shop...

We live close by and my wife pointed out that they were putting a card shop in the plaza. Stopped in to check it out and was thoroughly impressed with the place. The owner, Michael, is a great guy, really in it for the culture of gaming/collecting/playing. Spent more time talking and hanging out with him than actually shopping. Great inventory of Loungefly, Magic the Gathering and Pokémon cards and looking forward to seeing what else is added down the line. So glad that we have a place like this were like-minded nerds such as myself, can hang out, play games and shop cool...

Went in here as I saw a new card shop had opened while I was out of town. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular but was very pleased with what I found! Mike offered me free code cards, dice, and some deck necessities after I told him I play the Pokemon TCG. We started talking and I mentioned how I was looking for a Pokemon Go Ditto peel-able card. He had a Bidoof one and showed me which was really cool. He then proceeded to give me the card, simply because I was looking for it! I cannot praise this...
