Prime Butcher — Local services in Hampstead

Folks this place is amazing, I was looking for a new butcher shop in the area, and I was amazed. Not only are they friendly but the place is immaculately clean, with bright lighting, shelves stocked neatly, everything in order! Not only did they slice up my ribeye thinly for some cheese steaks I was making (something other butcher shops wouldn't do for me) but they have an amazing selection of one off items here from ice cream to cheeses, they've got cuts of meat here that are considered esoteric in some parts, like oxtail (considered a delicacy if you know how to make it right). You don't want to buy your deli meats or ground beef anywhere else, they grind fresh lean 85/15 sirloin daily, none of that wierd pink slime you'll get at the grocery store (yuck)! Try the bisousweet cinnamon doughnut muffins, the fresh applewood bacon, the breakfast sausage, both amazing! I think they also source turkeys for Thanksgiving! Yup they're my butcher shop...

I have been coming here, ever since the shop opened. The meats and everything else have been fabulous, along with the staff. For years they have had this buy 5lbs of ground beef, you get another 5 lbs free. Every cashier should know this, but the last time I was there, found this out to be wrong and a mistake. The cashier was a nice lady, but forgot to give me the free 5lbs extra but charged me for the whole 10lbs. I called, complained, came back and got my cash back for the free 5 lbs. This was an honest mistake, as we all make them, but was on one of the hottest days of the year and patience was at low point. I was also charged a dollar to have the extra 5 lbs vacuum sealed. Since that time, I have bought my own vacuum sealer and was disappointed I was charged being a steady customer for a very long time, as it wasn't crowded...

I shop here often ,ordered a meat platter and veggie platter for a special event ,the meat platter was good except way too much Swiss cheese not proportionate to rest and my veggie platter I had to discard except for broccoli and cauliflower the carrots were white and two rotten... cukes were mushy, the dip was watery like soup no celery and I was very disappointed I also bought chicken salad(dried out) and egg salad (soupy) which were not good ,unfortunately I will begin to shop elsewhere which really saddens me because of the location and the wonderful woman who works at the checkout ! Super embarrassing for me , my guests ate chips and desserts and I ONLY wasted $258.00 🙃 I work locally in retail and will be spreading my experience when asked for a recommendation...
