Arkham Gift Shoppe Comics — Local services in Hampton Township

I first stopped in at Arkham Gift Shoppe years and years ago because the owner, Jeff, was a friend of a friend and I wanted to check out his shop. Despite liking superheroes and other genre stuff my whole life, it had been years since I regularly read comics.

Several long, fun conversations with Jeff occurred over the years and I now consider him a great friend and my love of the medium of comics fully rekindled. I stop in regularly to pick up regular titles and check out the often-changing stock of collectables and collected comic volumes.

I live across town from Arkham, but the trip is totally worth it. The newer location is roomy and bright and comfortable, and Jeff is knowledgable and friendly and always super helpful. He is great at recommending things for kids and older readers alike, and obviously loves meeting new customers as well as greeting regulars.

Comic shops have a bad but often-earned reputation of being cluttered, musty spaces with grumpy, condescending proprieters and annoying patrons trying to "outgeek" each other. Arkham is the total opposite, and I always have a great time. Sometimes I intend to pop in for a few minutes only to realize an hour and a half has passed! Very good comic and Funko Pop shoppe. Great selection of new comics and has been increasing the selection of back issues. The store has packaged "runs" of a comic to help you build your collection and get the whole story line. Has a very large selection of trade paperback (TPB) books as well.

I didn't actually buy anything here - I'm sure its a fantastic store, but I hit a deer on route 8 and pulled over at Arkham's Gift Shoppe, completely shaken. The gentleman who runs this store was so kind and gave me a chair to sit in while I waited for the police to arrive and offered me soda and water.
