Country Mile Gardens — Local services in Harding Township

BUYER BEWARE!!! Well, at first I was very impressed b y tom, his crew, and their willingness to be responsive. I had them plant 3 hemlocks and a red maple along the front of our property, and 6 hemlocks in the back, all of which are doing fine. HOWEVER, they also recommended planting 'knockout rose bushes' and other decorative shrubs and grasses along the font garden, and every single one died. When I called Tom only weeks after the planting to say they didn't look good, he said he would 'come by to take a look', and then called me to say they were 'fine'. I told him at the time I wanted to be sure they would stand by the product of they didn't survive,. and he was vague in his response. Now, after the winter, they are all truly dead, and he told me that 'there is no warranty, and he wasn't going to do anything about it, period./ He just lost a customer who had purchased from them for years, as well as several other family member with homes in the area. My husband and I have been shopping at Country Mile Gardens for over 30 years. From flowers, herbs, garden tools, yards of soil or mulch we are constantly happy with our purchases! The staff are always helpful and pleasant. I was buying my perennials this year and Sharon was so incredibly helpful. She was knowledgable, patient, and kind as she showed me every shade perennial that CMG carried. Answering all of my questions as we went along. I was able to fill my cart with all that I needed. When I went to check out the cashier, Christine greets me with a cheery "hello, how are you today", as I so enjoy hearing every time I shop there. Even with a long line of customers she always makes each customer feel like they are the only one in the store. Never gets annoyed or frazzled, never makes you feel rushed, and is a big part of why I keep coming...

I discovered Country Mile Gardens years ago when I worked up in the area, and it's been my go-to place ever since. Simply the best! Dan, Thomas and staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful in finding the right plant, shrub, tree for your property/ecosystem. And the quality of their products is top-notch! I have a number of shrubs and trees on my property purchased at CMG, a few of which were planted by their crew. An excellent experience in every aspect. They are such a quality outfit I didn't even have them 'unwrap' the last tree (norway spruce) I purchased from them because they've proven their quality to me over the years.
