Painted Grape — Local services in Hardyston Township

I can't say enough positive things about Painted Grape and their staff, particularly Beckie, with whom I have had the pleasure of working at my school two years in a row. I work at a private special needs school and run an after school program for the younger students, who range in ages 6-14. The students, most of whom have Down syndrome, autism and other learning/language disabilities to varying degrees, require a significant amount of one-to-one attention and assistance. Beckie has the knowledge, patience and understanding of various needs and capabilities, qualities which enable her to confidently cater to this population with competence and flexibility. She is a huge proponent of creative expression in any way, shape or form and encourages the students to paint as much on their own as they can/want, regardless of their ability to "stay within the lines". Beckie considers painting a process in which individuals must truly immerse themselves, and she provides ample time for the students to do so. I was initially drawn to Beckie and the Painted Grape after speaking with her and learning of her experience with individuals that require extra support and differentiated instruction, and my (and the students') experience with her has been exceptional. Had a party for our 8 year old. Arrived 15 minutes early and received an attitude that we were there too early..staff definitely not kid friendly..every parent of kids who were attending said staff has no patience for kids during the event.. staff also blamed and was looking for one of the kids who had apparently knocked there wall heater off the wall.. being in the trade noticed that heater was not installed correctly, but, worker was to busy telling us that it would cost her money to fix..very rude to paying customers.. definitely would not return...

My mom and I had a great time at Painted Grape this past weekend! We ended up being the only two in the class which was great- it was like our very own personal lesson. Beckie was so easy to learn from and she really took her time to help when we needed. All of the art pieces to choose from were fantastic.
