The experience of tubing itself was incredibly fun. The water was cool, the staff was incredibly helpful, kind, and polite. The only reason that this review is not 5 stars is because of the inadequacy of life jacket sizing. There are only two sizes of life jackets available: regular and XL, nothing else. Given that the river current is strong (at parts, some parts are calmer than others), having inadequate sizing for life jackets for people who are bigger, or even smaller or children, is incredibly unsafe. Not only do the straps dig into your skin, the buoyancy does not function as intended if you are sized incorrectly. Given that life jackets ARE required for customers, there ought to be properly sized and fitted life jackets for anyone, regardless of size. I would love to come back to Harper's Ferry Adventure, but not until this is remedied. I will not risk my life...
Read moreWe have used this place several times before. This year will be our last. Today was not how a business should be run. We got to check girl at check had the your wasting my time attitude. Half way through my tube was flat and I walked back. The bus driver had her kids with her. Not really that bad but her son had his dirt bike and was racing up and down the road so the whole flat water trip we had to listen to his dirt bike. Read moreWe were pretty underwhelmed! The listing said 3 hours and 1.5 miles, but when we arrived, we were plopped in boats and pointed upriver. There's no shuttle! If you're completely new to kayaking and want to splash around within sight of the launch it might make sense, but it's overpriced for just that. We went as far as possible up river (before hitting impassable shallow rapids on one side of the island and the power plant on the other) and even with the slow going of paddling up river and not paddling at all down river, we were done within an hour and 45 minutes. It's not 3 hours and google maps confirmed it's not 1.5 miles, so the listing is incorrect. I'll choose another...
