My husband and I have lived in these apartments for 4 years and there are some things that have not changed that make us want to move. We're hoping this will be our last year here as we renew our lease for another year at the end of this month.

Allow me to start with what I do like about this place. I enjoy the fact that it's near the trail and we ride our bikes to the beach often. It's located near the freeway so that adds convenience. All of my neighbors have been polite and I've never had an issue with anyone.

What I dislike is the fact that maintenance halfway "fixes" everything and we have to put in tickets for the same issues constantly: one being the AC. Every summer, and I mean every, we notice as it gets warmer and we decide to turn our air on, it never works. So what do we have to do? Move all of the items out of our closet that we took time to nicely organize just so they can get to the cooling system to "fix" it. There's a tiring cycle of us putting everything back in the closet just to have to remove everything again because the air is still not fixed. One guy that came to fix it even made a comment saying there's certain units that have this problem every year that they know they're gonna get calls on and others they never do. You can imagine how that made me feel. That should tell them something as well.

Another thing that we had to call on multiple times was our dryer. It never dries on the first try. We have to restart it 2 or 3 times just to fully dry our clothes. You know what maintenance does? "Fix" it then we're back having the same issue.

It's like they are being cheap and do not want to replace items. Our appliances are outdated including the kitchen appliances. Our dishwasher never worked either and we gave up on getting that fixed as well as the AC. We're going to purchase a portable cooling unit and it's a shame we can't even utilize our AC that we're paying for.

They raise the rent every year and have nothing to show for it. I cant wait to move elsewhere and really feel like I'm getting what I'm paying for.

edit now we got a letter saying they havent received a copy of our renter's insurance so they are billing us. We have provided them numerous copies...

Can't...

We've had nothing but problems here. We can't wait to move.

First off, our basement flooded and it took weeks for them to finish the repairs so we could use it again. They forgot the fan that they put down there to blow out the carpet, and I had to argue to get it out. Then, when I said it didn't feel 100% dry and it smelled, they sent someone in with a bottle of febreeze (Despite my saying I don't use the stuff because its full of dangerous chemicals) and that's all.

Second, there's been huge potholes since the snow melted in our area of the complex, and others further back. Huge amounts of standing water has caused the bugs to be even worse this year. Especially spiders. There's hornets and wasps everywhere.

Third, the stairs leading to the pool from the lockers are always infested with spiders and horribly filthy. I've complained about this several times and no one will do anything about it. Its disgusting.

Fourth, if you move here, good luck getting a hold of anyone for anything. The office almost never picks up the phones, and the messages left with the call center never get returned. I had to go up to the office during office hours (which are pitiful) to get anything done.

Fifth, this place is a slum. You're basically paying for proximity to Metro Beach and nothing else. Oh, and you have to give 60 days notice you're moving, even if your lease is up and you state you'll be moving when its up. And they don't remind you/tell you about the 60 days until a week before your lease is up. So we're stuck here on the astronomical month-to-month rent for 60 more days. Its awful.

This place is stealing your money if you live here. Its the worst place we've ever lived, and we had a tiny apartment in queens, NY so that's...

This place needs new management. Let's see when you first pick what unit you want they will show you the fully updated one with new floors, and appliances. They won't let you see the one that you're supposed to move in so I found this kind of odd.

Upon arrival to our townhouse I was expecting what they showed me... boy was I surprised. I walked into appliances dated back in the 70's, stains, dishwasher leaking, dirty bathroom, holes in the screens, you name it there was an issue. So I began putting in work orders with their "24 hour maintenance". That's a crock of **. The only thing that has been repaired was the dishwasher. Whenever I open the dishwasher the door it begins to fall out. The water system is connected to the person next to you. So say my neighbor (who is a very nice guy who 100% agrees with this) decides to do laundry, take a shower, or run the dishwasher while you're in the shower. You can say goodbye to that relaxing peaceful shower that you were enjoying and expect a rude wakeup call of either SCORCHING HOT water, or BELOW FREEZING COLD. It takes them to complete a work order somewhere between a week and two weeks - and that's if you're calling them at least twice a day. Also! If it snows, you can expect the complex across the street to be done, but yours will not until a day or two later. The parking spots will not be plowed so you have to illegally park everywhere.

I would rate this complex 0 stars. But that's not possible on here. So take my advice, pay the extra $50 - $100 for a different townhome or apartment because this place is...
