Saving cats since 1970's but care cost are outrageous, just below the exorbitant prices of St. Francis Pet Hospital in Swedesboro. 4 ☆ service, 1 ☆ costs. Sick of C19 on every front page. This is no mistake, since they are the ONLY two local vets. Delaware Valley Veterinary Hospital has recently implemented the same ala carte menu that was implemented by St Francis Pet Hospital once the new facility was built.

I recently asked for the cost of a litter check of cats & was given the price of $135. That included a preliminary health check, & initial vaccines. When I went to check out I was presented with a bill that was over $200. That was the first bait-and-switch I experienced at this facility. I dropped off my female cat to be spayed a few weeks ago. I asked how much hydration cost & was quoted a price of $20. Hydration used to be part of the cost of surgery; now like st. Francis Pet Hospital it is an ala carte item. When I went to check out I was charged $70 for hydration. This was the second bait and switch tactic used on me by this facility.

By the way thank you www.Friends of Animals.Org for helping me defray the cost of spaying my cat. For $85 I obtained a certificate that defrayed the cost of cat spaying which runs at Delaware Valley Hospital anywhere from $160 on up. For a comparison check of prices, look up Saint Francis Hospital in Florida, which I accidentally stumbled onto today. I would expect Southern Florida to be expensive, as it is a ritzy area. It just confirmed my suspicions about how overpriced these two veterinary services are.

Wait times are extremely long & if you check the Yelp reviews more honest evaluations of prices & services are available. Long wait times are often cited for this practice. Although we live only 10 minutes away, 90% of the time it is a two-hour Expedition between the time we leave the house until the time we return to the house.

The medical staff is great, all front desk staff are pleasant, professional, & knowledgeable. Why wouldn't the medical staff be competent or the front desk staff be professional? That should be a given at any Veterinary service, especially the ones that charge top dollar for their services. If you do not want to skip a mortgage payment or dip into your retirement fund in order to keep the owners of these two Veterinary practices in a affluent lifestyle, prepare to see your pet suffer & life shortened, as there is no affordable alternate pet care in the area.

In addition, don't expect a professional courtesy of making a partial payment & carrying a balance for a month. The first consideration of this Veterinary service is money & your pets care & your financial ability to pay on the spot runs a poor 2nd. If you should be granted the privilege of carrying a balance for a short time, expect to be embarrassed & hounded at the front desk in front of all the others waiting to be seen, as if you are a deadbeat. If I could give them a negative rating for all of this I would gladly do so.

The future is robotic pets. With care this costly, saving pets & multiple pet households for average households will disappear. Visits increased $15 since this C19 sham. I believe the large practices "split the ticket" with doctors like dry cleaners do with those who tailor at the business. This doubles all costs, which explains the vanishing solo vet practices & high care costs. $65 to walk in the door, $150 blood work. Btw I used to get the $50 blood work with yearlies until I learned, by accident, it only evaluated bacteria, not a shorter panel as I was lead to believe.

Emphasize HYDRATION for any surgery. I lost a cat when they switched from it being included to an a la carte item. No problem charging you $400 for a cat sent home dying.

We had to duplicare procedures done by a certified at home vet who sent in the records.

The bulletin board in the entry has been moved to the waiting room floor. Used to be able to see lost & found, pets for adoption, etc. Asked to have it reinstated to no avail. A sick visit can easily run...

I don't write reviews, but the vets at Delaware Valley Veterinary Hospital saved one of my dog’s lives. The least I can do is write a good review for such an amazing vet practice. We have two basset hounds that we love dearly, the first one we bought as a puppy, and then a few months later we adopted the other. Right from the very beginning, we loved how Dr. Wells treated our puppy. She was very knowledgeable, sweet, and I could tell she genuinely loved her job. Dr. Wells is the vet that we have seen for all of our appointments including surgery to spay our dogs. We love her.

However, we also owe everything to Dr. Morrissey for saving one of our basset’s lives after a serious accident. We have a doggy door for our dogs to go in and out of the house as they please. One day when we got home from work, one of our dogs was howling from in our pool, under the pool cover. It was December and freezing. She had gone on the pool cover and it ripped causing her to fall through (by the way, if you are reading this and have a pool, do not ever trust anything on a pool safety cover, EVER! They CAN fail). We have no idea how long she was in there since we weren’t home. Her belly was totally bloated with water and air. She was just floating there in the freezing water. We immediately brought her to Delaware Valley where Dr. Morrissey took her in. We were told that she probably wouldn’t make it. Her temperature was so low that it was unreadable. It was devastating. Well, I am happy to say that she made a full recovery thanks to Dr. Morrissey. The whole situation was very traumatizing, and I have still not fully recovered even though it happened a year and a half ago. But, we owe every day that we spend with our dog to Dr. Morrissey, every lick, every walk in the park, every wag of a tail.

Lastly, we think that Delaware Valley has fair pricing for a vet’s office. Of course, no vet is cheap. But, Delaware Valley doesn’t over-charge like some other places. Their charges are reasonable. For my dog that almost died, and was watched over 24/7 and stayed overnight and all the next day, it was a 500 bill. During that time, I had cried enough over the whole situation. It was nice not to have to cry over...

My dog was an established patient since 2016 at this facility since she was a puppy. I had been trying for months to get my dog seen. I set up an appointment back in August 2021 and the earliest that my dog could be seen was in November 2021. I didn't want to wait that long, but I took the earliest they could give me. At the end of December, I called to get my dog seen for a lump on it's back. They said the earliest appointment they had available was the end of April 2022/early May 2022. RIDICULOUS!!! They told us to call back the following day to see if they could get us in for an "urgent care visit." A few days later, I called and they still could not get my dog in for an urgent care visit even when I called right at 8am when they opened. The receptionist told me they had a 9am opening the following day. My dog had become very sick out of nowhere and was lethargic. The receptionist on the phone seemed to not even care. But she did tell me to call back "if anything changes." I called back an hour or two later crying, saying that my dog was still lethargic and wouldn't get up from a lying position. I knew something was very wrong. The receptionist told me that the vet was in emergency surgery so I couldn't take her there to be seen, and told me my dog definitely had to be seen, so the receptionist recommended I take my dog to Mount Laurel Animal Hospital. Unfortunately my dog died due to being severely anemic. Why wouldn't the receptionist mention this when I first called as an option, or even when I called before to try and get her seen? Mt. Laurel Animal Hospital is 24 hours. I will never bring any more of my pets to this veterinary hospital again. They are not reliable nor do they seem to really care about pets anymore. It seems that they want all their appointments to be urgent care visits, probably to charge you more! They didn't even send a sympathy card (Mt. Laurel Animal Hospital did). Afterall, my dog was an established patient. I even called them the next day to let them know my dog had passed away and it appeared the receptionist who I had been dealing with the day before, could care less. They used to be a great veterinary hospital, but not anymore. I highly DO...
