We went there today to have a great family day , i brought my 21 month old grandson , who acted awesome, sitting there eating crackers , I at one time took him in my arms and held him, the lanes beside me at the time were not in use, mind you, this was at least 1hr and 45 mins into bowling, when out of no where I got screamed at by a short haired, heavy set , female, she screamed at me in front of my 3 other children, telling me to sit down with THAT BABY, who was acting amazing, not only was it unprofessional ,rude and embarrassing , but she then went after my 12 yr old cause he mistakenly had a pencil in his hand while we went to pay, almost attacking him to get the pencil back, and when i said "for the love of Jesus" she hissed yes hissed at me, needless to say after spending 52 +dollars at your business, I will never ever be returning, and the people who also sat in lane 8 beside us in lane 7 showed the same feelings towards this rude large lady..I will be sure to tell all my family and friends as well as post my experience on my facebook , where i have over 580 friends, never to spend any family time at Harvard Lanes Harvard Ma, for the rudeness in which this person showed today ...not a great way to run a business, employees are your biggest asset, and this person should never work in the public let alone a family...
Read moreNot enough good things to say about Harvard Lanes and the people behind it (owner Jim Shook, his dad, Tom, and their staff). We hosted our wedding welcome party at the Lanes and it was the highlight of the weekend. The team could not have been more accommodating -- they were super responsive during the planning stages, going above and beyond to respond to our questions and connect with vendors and the town of Harvard, as needed. Our guests had a full new england summer experience -- candlepin bowling, a lobster clambake and a softserve ice cream truck from Woercester's original ice cream man. The event was beautiful, lively and could not have been more fun! I will be forever grateful to Jim and his team for their kindness to us and our guests, attention to detail and flexibility. I wholeheartedly recommend Harvard Lanes as a place to host your events -- and of course, as a special, neighborhood gem that is delightful to visit and bowl with family and friends at any time of the year. They have made upgrades to the space that are modern and beautiful (and very clean!), but still pay homage to its...

Walking in, your eye is immediately drawn to the classic machines, tables, and alley. You are greeted by the friendliest people around, given your scorecard and sent on your merry way to this little slice of history. Behind you, however, is a refined, modern bar area (with delicious cider and drinks as well as some food) cashier station, and the best (and cleanest) bathrooms I think I have ever been in.
What a joy to see past and present clash in a harmonious and delightful way. This place is a gem and their vision is clear: a timeless game in a timeless town helping to forge timeless experiences.
If you have the absolute honor of 204 Lanes being near you, do not take it for granted. We are almost a day away from here and have already considered taking a red eye to come back. That’s how worth...
