Black Sand Beach Apparel — Local services in Hawaii

Absolutely loved the Hawai’i hospitality and overall lax vibe/experience throughout this side of the big island….my husband and I enjoyed a sunny afternoon in Punalu’u on the black sand beach, hanging out under the palms and swimming in the ocean ..(it was cooler than expected) def did the touristy thing of buying gobs of tees stickers and other PBSB stuff for friends and fam from their awesome beach stand …wish we would have gotten more honestly bc the on line version is limited for styles and colours of tshirts ((looks like they aren’t allowing orders to be placed for ANY merch until August **is this correct, folks there at bsbeachapparell??)) but we highly recommend hitting this beach and adding it to your plans if you are on this side of the island - definitely saw lots of sea turtles omg omg omg(!!) they were soooo cool and so totally adorable! You can’t pet them unfortunately and the staff and the park people ask for you to keep your distance of 20 feet from the turtles rightfully so…they deserve their space for sure- you can take lots of video and pics so we did… but overall the beach was clean - a little gritty on my toes though ..the black sand is not fine granules like some of the other beach locations on the island, so surf/beach shoes of some kind are a must - it gets HOT obviously bc of the colour - yowch!! Crowd was very cool - low key - and a nice mix of younger and older people hanging out - over all I would totally recommend this place for a day trip and we definitely will go back!...

A hidden gem!

Love love love this place! If you're ever on Big Island, Punaluu Black Sand Beach is a must to check out. The view and beach itself is stunning and if you're lucky you'll spot some turtles basking in the sun on the shore.

So happy I stopped by the little shop on the sand. The family that runs it was so kind and full of aloha, we ended up talking story for a quite awhile; they even took the time to share the history of the beach with me which was really special.

I bought a papale hat and the vintage pullover.. I've already had to buy another hat since I worn my first one out! I get so many compliments whenever I wear my vintage pullover, its great quality and so cozy, perfect for all occasions.

I was stoked when they started an online shop this year as well, I bought most of my family Christmas gifts from them!

Support small businesses while you can, big mahalos to family...

Absolutely love the ingenuity, style, feel, and versatility of the clothes. It’s so breathable I am able to use it on any occasion. The prints on the clothes make me feel connected to the islands even when far away from home. They are perfect gifts for kamaʻāina who miss home or those located right here in the islands. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone especially now during the holidays.
