Pappy's Country Store — Local services in Hayesville

Came here to go tubing because it's advertised as $6 online and there's a GON article about it talking about how nice it is, and how great the fishing was. Tubing is now $10/per, the float time is 1.5hrs and they didn't tell us until we were in the van that if we took longer, they would charge us an additional $15 per person. The guy was clearly not interested in providing an experience, just there to line his own pockets. You'd probably have a better experience at the campground down the road. In addition to this, we went there the day before to get some information so we didn't go in blind... we're told we can bring poles to go fishing, and then the day of, he says "normally, I don't allow people to bring poles, but I'll let it slide this time. Just make sure you don't stop and fish or ill have to charge you for that!" Really poor...

Stopped at the Country Store about 4pm on a Tuesday to find the store closed. It did look as thought there would be some interesting & good finds inside from what we could see. The Fudge Shop was also closed. We wandered over to the Trading Post & Ice Cream Shop. The “antiques” there are very slim but the ladies were nice & welcoming. Just wish owners would take the time to post correct hours since Google maps is how most folks...

Steer way clear of the Tasty Taco place. I've had better MRE's than that 14.00 yuck. Still the service was friendly inattentive and their preference for casual F bombs probably appeal to the younger crowd. Just a single snarky opinion. Go to Jim's Smokin Q if...
