I wanted to learn a little French before my trip to Paris. I needed something virtual but wanted live classes with an instructor. After researching, I found Top French Class. I contacted the website, and Pascale replied within an hour. She was the first to respond and the most personable. We set up an intro Zoom so she could understand what I was looking for. It was apparent that Pascale wasn’t just teaching French; she was French. I wound up booking eight private classes on the spot. She customized the content to what I was looking for. Pascale had me review the unique sounds that certain letter combinations make. We reviewed reading menus and ordering food, getting around Paris via the Metro, and how to ask if I may take photographs. (Est-ce que je peux prendre des photos dans le musée?) Pascale has been a blessing in my life the past 5 years. My husband, knowing of my passion for France and its language, found her for me when we were planning a trip to France. Since I was 72 and I had had French in high school and in college, my French was pretty shaky. Several months after starting lessons with Pascale, COVID hit and our trip was canceled. I continued lessons hoping we would go sometime in the future and because I was enjoying them so much. Pascale varied my lessons with French songs which we translated together, stories from French authors and videos of France. She definitely helped me keep my sanity during "lockdown". Happy 50th bday to me! Like so many people, it has been my lifelong dream to learn French. While I was planning my milestone bday trip to France, I decided to just go for it-No time like the present.
