20 years my parents saved to get new carpet in the house. It was a challenge given their disabilities and being confined to wheelchairs, but they were determined and ecstatic to say the least when this hope of theirs was coming to fruition. Their house is their pride and joy for the last 40 years. Then everything went wrong.

The owners of Carpet Plus were content with knowing their contractors were doing sub-par work.

The linoleum and carpet were the wrong patterns. My mother mentioned it to them and they said oh yes we will take it back. So they came back the next day and it was still wrong. They then said oh well sorry it looks like we sold it to somebody else. It was at the front of the store.

The workers were adamant about doing the work while lecturing my mother by driving home the following excuses even after they made the statements above contradicting themselves about them selling her materials to someone else.

1.There is no way you could’ve remembered. You are mistaken. This is what you bought.

2.We never had those materials in stock to begin with so there’s no way that we could’ve gotten it wrong.This is what you bought.

Then the installation proceeded.

My mother pointed this out to the workers about why they were glueing the carpet directly to the wooden floors below without using any padding.

So within a week or so the glue started to seep through the new carpet and ruined it.

2.The linoleum in the bathroom and hallways was done so poorly that within a few days it started bubbling and peeling up.

• So the loose pieces don’t get stuck in their wheelchairs and rip more, they patch it up with duct tape.**

My mother asked to speak with the gentlemen that did the unsatisfactory work.This was the explanation that the store gave my mother to dissuade her from pressing the issue.

“We don’t have regular staff at the store.All workers that work here are freelance So we bear no responsibility on the quality of work that they do. “

My mother continued to try contacting the store after this poorly done job, and they never returned her calls or continued to give her the same excuses outlined in this review.

Carpet Plus, in Hiawatha Kansas, is an excellent place to shoot for carpeting, vinyl flooring and furniture.

I have six rental properties all the flooring; carpet, vinyl and the snap together wood slabs... have come from Carpet Plus. One rental is now over 10 years old and the carpeting needs replaced ... it’s showing a bit of wear but no rips or holes. Vinyl flooring is just as old and looks like it’s brand new shows no wear at all.

I purchased a recliner from them a few months ago the same 5 stars.

Prices are very reasonable and customer service is outstanding.

I wanted to surprise my mother with a new rocking chair as a belated birthday gift. They had exactly what she wanted. Amazing prices for the quality of their goods. You won't find cheaply made materials and junk here. Thank You again for saving the day. 😀 Totally positive experience. Update the next day: I forgot to mention that I also bought her a new cabinet to use as a bookshelf so we can get rid of her old cheap particle board nightmare. Everything arrived this morning.
