Restaurant's like these are what is wrong with America and a part of my Southern heritage that I am ashamed of. I am from Paris, and had heard how good this restaurant was supposed to be. In addition, someone gifted my family a giftcard for this past Christmas. So we decided to make a visit for Mother's Day.
We arrived 15 minutes prior to opening and frankly it was like seeing sow lineup for the trough. Guests were rude when jockeying for position to get through the doors when they unlocked them directly at opening time (5? pm). The point that I am trying to make here is that, clearly, some subset of the local populace thinks that this is the best food they have ever eaten.
And that is why I stated my opening remark.. the food was terrible. We had a $100 gift card and we intended to spend every bit of it. So to start we ordered appetizers. We had many fried from frozen options to choose from - such as cheese sticks, crawfish tails, and fried green tomatoes, etc. I say that they are fried from frozen, because it was clear. No love or finesse was put into the food whatsoever. The menu is designed to take orders and sling half-a** orders out as fast as possible. Then came the entrees - steak, potato, and salad. As you can imagine, the salad was your traditional small town southern iceberg from bag salad. Its only redeeming quality was ranch dressing. The baked potato was small and dry.. but what did I expect. And the steak... I ordered mid rare. My table ranged from mid-rare to well. All steaks came out mid-rare to mid. And had a freezer burnt taste to them. These two qualities really made me feel like the steak was frozen prior to being ordered/cooked. You know how sometimes you can find big boxes of frozen steaks - similar to the Schwann's man? Well those steaks are crap and the steaks served at Hub's had the same crap quality.
If I could rate my experiences here a 0/5, I would. Based on my visit, I honestly have a lower opinion of everyone that I know that truly likes this restaurant. Its like we Southerners are living up to the backwards stereotype that we have. I am very disappointed in both this restaurant and my community for...
Read moreWe love this place, sadly its only open for 3 days out of the week. The blacked steaks from here are absolutely amazing. Every. Single. Bite! Honestly I can't comment on much else besides the steaks and the loaded baked potatoes because I refuse to try anything else other than their to die for steaks(has to be blackened, you dont know what you're missing).
There is a draw back if you are a non smoker or smoke bothers you, they have a smoking section and while they do a good job of keeping the air in the non smoking as clear as possible, you can still smell it which is a bummer. That being said ot won't stop us from going and getting some awesomes steaks, just not gonna take the...
Read moreWe were recommended to eat here by Sleep Inn in Union City,TN while on vacation on visit the Discovery Parks of America. The food was wonderful! Our two grandchildren had hotdogs and fries while my husband had blackened steak with fried green tomatoes and a salad. I had a blackened grilled chicken with the fried green tomatoes and a salad. The atmosphere was not bad. The only thing for me with have our two younger grandchildren is being from a state that most restaurants don’t allow smoking in, it is always an adjustment when visiting Kentucky restaurants with that option. But all in all, it was a...
