We had our sons 5th birthday here from 3-5pm. I called at 9 am to see what would be a good time for us to be able to come in and set up for the party. They told me there was nothing else booked that day, so we were free to come in whenever and start setting up. So my mother in-law, I and my kids get there at 1pm to start setting up they greeted us, I told them we were there to set up for our 3pm party , we bring in our cake and all of our decorations to the party room, and all of a sudden other people that weren't attending our party start coming back to the room with gifts. So we stopped what we were doing, and I went and ask the, who I assumed was the owner because nobody introduced them selves or anything (very unprofessional to people that are paying you as much as they charge). The owner says "oh yes I did tell you, you were allowed to set up anytime today when you called but I forgot they were having a party at 1pm, but its only from 1-2pm so you can come back at 2 and start setting up" So we had to take all of our cake/decorations and everything back out. We were a little annoyed, but we understand things happen. So we came back at around 2:20, figured we would give them enough time to clean up. When we get there, they party before was just starting their party. So by the time they were done it was about 10 mins before our party was scheduled to start. So we were inconveniently having to set up everything while all of our family and guest were showing up, not only that it ended up cutting into about 30 mins of our bowling time. All of the employees were extremely rude to all of our guests, almost all the parents complained to us about how unprofessional and rude they were to everybody. My husband over heard the employees talking very unprofessional about our family. We bit our tongues the entire time, because we are more respectful than that, and we were there for the kids to have a good time, and we weren't going to let anybody ruin it. Our son, and everybody had fun, after looking past the ignorance. But I will NEVER recommend this bowling alley to anyone. Save...
Read moreHaving a place so close in town to bowl is nice. Although the rudeness from the grill guy was undeniable. We were treated like it was an inconvenience for myself and kids to come bowling. We ordered lunch during and bowled during open lanes time. I even called ahead. I spent almost $100 for all of us there. Literally the guy could use some manners and appreciate locals supporting a local business. Customer service/manners could be better. We were there so we could have a “fun, no school day” with my kids. I know we are not league customers or “regulars” but we are paying customers and are not more or less important than anyone else that comes in. A “Thank you” or “you’re welcome” is simple and free to give away. Although I didn’t let pride get in my way of giving a poor mannerism man an undeserving 10% tip of my hard earned income. We had fun bowling and the food was simple but good and filling. I wish it were...
Read moreI've been bowling on a league at Higginsville Lanes for several years and have to say, the staff definitely belong there. They treat you how you deserve to be treated and are always good about being straight forward about any questions or requests. The food is great. The slightly greasy but filled with flavor type of food you'd expect from a popular home diner. They keep a variety of drinks, both hard and soft, and always good at making sure you get your fair share. The lanes themselves are pretty standard, but are, generally, well maintained. If there are issues there is always someone there who has some idea how to fix whatever is going on, or at least how to make sure your experience isn't ruined if they can't fix it themselves. The pro shop is run by a man with years of experience and he does an amazing job keeping your balls...
