Food Lion — Local services in Hillsborough

I would like to know if anyone else has a problem with getting cash back. Every time I try to get cash or even if I'm not getting cash back there is a manager I guess she is a manager that tells the clerk not to let me get cash back. I don't understand the situation and it is very petty how she/they are conducting herself. I feel harassed everytimeI'm paying. I would really like to figure out why if anyone can help please reach out to me.other than that experience it's a good place to shop. Never had a problem at any other locations. I have physical and mental problems I shouldn't be treated like this for something that they offer.also when I confronted the young lady.i was told I was in the wrong and she didn't care about making it right. While they have the best meat and produce of any chain store around Hillsborough, they’re customer service is seriously lacking. I have been in there at least twice a week for years, and this has only been an issue recently. There are a couple of the associates that are perfectly friendly and approachable. However, the last three cashiers I have had were just this side of rude. No greeting, no “did you find everything you need?” No hello, just nothing. I had that very same job for years when I was younger and part of the job then was to greet my customers. I don’t expect fake happy, or false smiles- but I definitely expect more from customer service associates/cashiers. I won’t even get started on the bagging practices- but if I buy bread I don’t want it in a bag with bananas or a jar of sauce. It just doesn’t make sense.

I really like this store. I get all my fruit here. The staff is nice and the store is clean and neat. Nice selection of plants and flowers. Usually not too busy and good parking. Edit 6/15/22- I'm reducing from 5 stars to 2. Fruit quality has gone downhill. Store not kept clean. There was actually an apple with a bite taken out of it sitting on top of the loose apples for sale. They now have self checkout. With my schedule I often shop at night. Full cart, no lanes open except self check-out. No other customers when I walk up. Employee watches me struggle to scan my full cart of groceries with my bad back. Then a man walks up and she opens a register and checks him out while I'm still fighting with the self serve scanner and bagging my own groceries. No thank you or have a nice day.
