Viva Chefs — Local services in Hillsborough

My wife and I were trying to find a cooking service to help supplement our cooking and reduce the mental load of cooking every meal each week. We have tried other meal services like Shef, but our challenge with those is we can’t control the ingredients that are used or the packaging that the food comes delivered in.

I stumbled upon Chefs and Home and it seemed perfect for what we were looking for eg a chef who can come to our home and cook a healthy home cooked meal using our own ingredients (cold pressed oils, spices, etc).

The team behind Chefs and Home have been very responsive from the beginning and easy to work with! We were matched with a chef based on our needs/constraints who we have now booked for a day each week to come and make 4 meals for us. His experience is quite versatile so we can change things up with Asian food, Nepalese, etc in addition to the core Indian menu he has. He has also been open to making dishes that are not on his menu.

Our experience has been wonderful so far! We really look forward to our meals. The food is tasty and fresh and is made with quality ingredients. The chef also asks us to taste test when a dish is ready so he can adjust as needed, and he clearly listens to our constraints (less spice, less oil, etc). He works independently in the kitchen and cleans up well before he leaves.

This experience has been a game changer for us and has really helped reduce the day to day churn we face as parents with full-time jobs. I highly recommend this service for anyone looking to get fresh meals made in the comfort of their home with their own quality...

Great at home cooking service which has an option of lots of Indian chefs. I find the pricing very reasonable too. I have been using them weekly for ~6 weeks now and the chefs are always on time and clean up thoroughly after themselves.
