Hillsdale County Fair — Local services in Hillsdale

Went on a Friday afternoon. Already pretty packed, the parking assistants really did an excellent job guiding vehicles around to find good spots.👌🏽 Walked through to see the Draft and Clydesdales,🐴 stopped to eat some fresh deep fried potatoes🍟, then stopped to eat some deep fried dough called elephant ear and funnel cake🤯🤤 absolutely amazing your tastebuds will have a party!!🎉 Walking around to work off the carbs and fat, slushies🥤, cotton candy, pizza🍕, deep fried cheese 🧀 on a stick!!! Hold on what?! This bad boy was on a STICK!! unfortunately not really hot to give me that stringy super sensation..but still good. After all that sugar we wanted something good and the BBQ smelled amazeballs so we picked two sandwiches one with pulled pork the other with Brisket. Bad idea!!🥴 Very disappointing..probably the worst Brisket and pulled pork 😟I have ever tasted, no flavor, no seasoning, way too much fat, Uber greasy...I'd rather eat a funnelcake then. Walked the entire fair🐄🐑🐐🐓🐇🍗🥐🥓🥨🍔🍟🍕🌭🥪🌮🌯🥙🍦🧁🍪🍩🍨☕️🍺🥤 and back to the parking spot we were given. It was a wonderful day and worth the money spent. Great family day, or...

The poor management of the supervisors and staff. The small animal barn is now under quarantine because they did not do their jobs. The rabbit disease from ohio has been brought in. Supervisor short looking like a guy woman was carrging dead rabbits out 2days ago. They let it go saying nothing until it could no longer be controlled. This has now cost everyone in the small animal barn not just a animal or animals but for some of them their pets. I do believe the old rules should be put back in place. All these supervisors who are not even there let alone doing there jobs be replaced. The board needs to take responsibility !!! Every child's animal or animals need to be replaced not that it will take away the pain! Its disgusting this was allowed to happen. All they had to do was their job. As animals were to come in read each contestants file making sure where it was purchased showing their picture with the animal as a baby and showing the feed and bedding purchased to date. This was not done!! Sadly something so easy and yet such lazy people representing the Hillsdale...

Our family had a great time at the fair. However I was very displeased with how the parking was. We paid $3.00 to park inside which is not a bad price, however we had an emergency and had to leave...we asked the front gate people if we could come back in without having to pay and they said yes.... well when we came back they told us a different story.. we had to pay to get back in. Also later on that night I had to leave to take my dad ( who is elderly and a diabetic) back home... Once again I had to pay to get back into the Fair. I was very unhappy with this. I believe they need to come up with some kind of single day parking pass or something like that..for things like family emergencies and etc... Otherwise the money that I normally pay that helps funds the fairgrounds will be outsourced to the neighbors...
