Update: I have been back three times since the below update about the move to only selling tickets in the concessions line. On most visits it works okay if you are hitting a less busy showing like a weekday matinee or if you come earlier to compensate for needing to wait behind people ordering concessions. I still think this is not a smart way to treat customers who aren't interested in popcorn and over - priced snacks, so won't go five stars. And, for opening night movies, I now factor in this detail when deciding whether to attempt a local showing or whether to make the trip to Coldwater, Jackson, or even the luxury theater experience options further out.
Update: Ridiculous new business model. No ticket sales at door. Only at food lines. Takes forever! Especially over Christmas break. We were going to be 15 mins late even though arrived early. Left and went to Coldwater.
Excellent theater, fair prices, great loyalty program, decent spread of movies for our locale.
However, recently encountered a problem where all the internal lights (including floor emergency exit lighting) were turned off halfway thru the closing credits. My family and I were waiting to see if there might be additional footage after the credits, such as a surprise preview, which is not uncommon. We were not alone in waiting. When the movie ended, all of us waiting were left in complete darkness. We had to fumble for our mobile phones and turn on flashlights to get safely out of the room into the hall. One family that had also stayed had two older ladies in their group who expressed concern about falling. None of my younger kids had phones, so they had no lights of their own.
When I politely advised the young man at the counter about this and suggested it wasn't a safe or sound practice to kill all lighting while customers were still in the theater, he responded (with a bit of snark) that his boss had given him permission to do so.
We have been back to the theater and have stayed through the credits (again, not alone in doing so) and it hasn't happened since that earlier time, so might have been a...
Read moreNot only cold and stale. Saltless flavorless popcorn for almost 7 dollars?! Oh. Best part. You don't find this out until AFTER you've paid. Good stuff. Won't be back. They say it's supposedly because people were "stealing" the salt. Ok? Keep some behind the counter. Individual salt packets. Tie the salt shakers down like some other theaters have. You guys really just couldn't fathom any alternatives? Interesting. Half the sodas were out of order and you apparently cannot order slushies with any of the deals, unlike other decent theaters. So you're paying top prices for mediocre concessions. The recliners really are the only good thing about this place. Other than that, it's overhyped. I've never been to a theater where I can hear the movie in the next room over the movie I'm watching. The picture seemed cloudy and dull. I updated to one star because this is by far the only truly awful experience I've ever had at a theater. Theaters should be a pretty simple straight forward service. Provide quality movie experiences, at the very least offer decent concessions, by better staff who know how to provide...
Read moreI went here with my friend for her birthday, we wanted to see an R rated movie (Joker) but you had to have an adult accompany you the whole time. My mother doesn’t like movies so she didn’t want to sit there for 2 hours. So we went to a PG 13 movie because we’re under age and then snuck into joker during the beginning. Let me also mention everything was extremely over priced. They charged us as adults so $9.00 a ticket! my friend and I bought 2 small popcorn and 2 small drinks and it rounded out to $40.. Then when we we’re watching joker they constantly had all the staff doing a check at once, walking up and down the aisles. The lady spotted my friend and I. She was extremely disrespectful about the situation and talked to us like we were babies, then she told us to go back to our theater. Also the soda was very unsettling and the popcorn was stale plus everything was messy. The only thing I liked about the theater...
