I have came here since I can really remember. even when I lived in Oklahoma, whenever I visited my family in Garrettsville for the summer, I would go here for the strawberry and or cherry picking. I try to visit at least once a year and I drop about 75 to 85 dollars when I go for the cherries and strawberries. well, this tradition has officially ended today. my mother and i took my 1 year old son and my 1 year old nephew with us to purchase a basket of peaches. 15 dollars for them. I didn't mind because they are excellent peaches and don't mind paying for quality. Seeing as both children were ONE YEARS OLD they didn't quite want to wait to eat them before I paid for them. each had one from the basket. no big deal, I was already in line with my wallet in hand afterall . well I got the fifth degree, asked 4 times in a row if I had STOLEN, yes, STOLEN the two peaches the babies had from other baskets and not the one I was purchasing. I was absolutely appalled. I am spending 15 dollars of some Flippin peaches do you really think I'd be the type of person to steal peaches? do you really think I'd be that dishonest ? lost a loyal customer for LIFE. the young girl then gave my mom a hard time when we asked for our reciept. she acted as if asking for a reciept was asking her to scale the great wall of China. it was absolutely unacceptable and my family will never ever go back ever again. I don't take kindly to accusations and rude behavior especially since I've been a loyal...
Read morevery nice ppl, from the tractor drivers to the field help to the gals in the market. very knowledgeable about their apples. enjoyed learning about the different varieties and pruning from the guys in the orchard. they are great about teaching you how to look for and pick your produce to enable you to get the best quality for immediate use. wish the raspberries were a little less expensive, but maybe they factor in what people eat while they are picking; if so, please let us know next time so we can eat some, lol! also sad that no apples that fall to the ground can be used for donating to food banks or for making cider, but apparently that is regulated by the government. definitely worth supporting these hard...
Read moreWe were there this June to pick a few cherries and some strawberries. It wasn't a particularly busy day (it was rainy) but we didn't receive any instructions when we arrived. We picked up a couple of large cardboard baskets assuming we'd return then after picking the fruits. Picking cherries was fun as the trees were short enough for the kiddos to work on. Strawberries weren't good this year. We ended up paying perhaps more for the cardboard boxes than the fruits - don't know how much as the receipt wasn't itemized. Also bought some Maple syrup and strawberry preserves. Enjoyed the morning, but would have appreciated some...
