Really nice tiny shopping mall type of place, especially for truckers or people on road trips! There is a Burger King, a MiniMart convenience store (the nachos and burritos were both gross so I couldn't eat them. I gave them to my roommate.) Anyway, there are also semi truck repair services, overnight and daytime parking for Semi and RV trailers, gas station, trucker's chapel, 3 pool tables, 2 arcade game consoles, and an empty space that looks like might become a restaurant or lounge of some sort. The best part is that this truck stop (One9) shopping mall has a boutique shop of some amazing items for sale!!! There were so many things I wanted to buy, it was hard to choose!! The lady that owns the shop has all kinds of handmade Native American jewelry, bags/purses, and clothing, as well as other beautiful styles of jewelry, lots of gorgeous amethyst geodes (and some are huge!!), other incredible real minerals and rocks, blankets, souvenir clothing, home decor, and so much more. It was such a surprise to me that they are on the famous Route66!!! So her shop also has all kinds of cool things to commemorate your experience. She has shirts, magnets, hats, signs, license plates, mugs, drinking glasses, shot glasses, and stickers. And so much more!! And the owner is so sweet and has such amazing attention to detail, customer service, and took such great care when bagging my purchases and even individually wrapped everything fragile and then packed everything in a box and taped it up. Usually store clerks just put all my items in a bag together, and breakable items rub and clank against each other and sometimes break. But she did the extreme opposite. I have never been more impressed with a customer service experience. Anyway, I will definitely be back at some point. Thank you Hopi Travel. (But avoid the...
Read moreIt's a shame; I used to enjoy coming here, and I always prefer independent truck stops over the chains. I was even willing to tolerate the employee apathy about the perpetually out-of-order ATMS (Seriously, those guys don't care, at all, if you are inconvenienced by broken ATMS. ) The knife shop, while overpriced, was cool, as was the gift shop. And, I always tried to spend some money when I was there, to support them.
Unfortunately, they have recently made it abundantly clear that the safety and well-being of their clientele and employees is nothing that concerns them. I walked in, this morning, (and, for the first time, walked back out without spending any money), and I noticed that they had recently displayed a "No Firearms " sign on their entrance, thereby advertising to the criminal element that the establishment was open to be robbed or terrorized without any resistance. (As we all know, criminals don't obey laws, so they certainly don't obey rules) I no longer feel safe there, and wouldn't bring any loved ones to such a dangerous establishment.
It's too bad. This used to be such a great place to stop. I...
Read moreI wish it gave me the option for no stars. This place was AWFUL! The showers were disgusting! They were badly lit, VERY dirty and there was A RAT RUNNING AROUND! The bathroom were no better. On top of that they want to charge 10 PER PERSON for showers! We are a family of 7 traveling and sometimes want to take a hot showers, it would have been 70 dollars! We we stop at Loves, Flying J or Pilot we are only charged 12 PER SHOWER! And yes they no how many there are of us. They were also extremely rude! A person named Gabby that works here was beyond rude and not to just us. Everyone she interacted with seemed shocked at her behavior. The cashier was nice but apparently she did not hear us when we said 7 of us so we bed 2 showers or she should have told us it was per person. The restaraunt is permenatly closed so there is only the burger king but after seeing the rat we chose no to eat there. This place has so much potential but whomever owns it doesn't care or is allowing someone else to run it into the ground. We will NOT stop here again nor recommend...
