I’ve been going to Renee for all my alteration needs for almost 8 years now. I found her through a simple Google search and after reading her outstanding reviews, and despite being a 50-minute drive each way, I made an appointment. I’m so glad I did because she is an amazing seamstress whose work is flawless. She is the only seamstress I’ll use. I have a complicated and severe leg injury that requires her to modify pants/dresses/skirts in additional ways. She nails it every time and always makes me feel so comfortable during the process. She’s a great problem solver! To best illustrate her finesse and expertise, I’ll share this story: My daughter’s first prom dress was altered at the shop where we purchased it from. The price of alterations from this shop was almost the cost of the very expensive dress and we had to go back 3 times for the fitting. For her second prom dress, we headed straight to Renee having just discovered her. This dress needed about a foot hemmed on the bottom (not a straight hem and full of lace fabric with a bustle) and had to be taken in all over for my petite daughter. It was a size 6 and she’s a size 2. Renee noticed the bustle button/loop wasn’t nearly as strong as it should be and she said she’d reinforce it. But the biggest problem? The plunging neckline that I wasn’t comfortable with even though it had the nude “netting” there. My daughter didn’t want to change it but the deal was no dress unless it was modified a bit. Renee worked her magic (with difficult material!) and made both my daughter and I thrilled with the result! Her fitting- the only one she needed because it fit like a glove when we picked it up, only took 15 minutes and was a fraction of the cost of her altered first dress. And I kid you not, despite all the pins in the dress, it looked as if my daughter could have walked out of there just like that and headed straight to prom. In just 15 minutes! Not only is Renee a master seamstress, she is truly a kind and compassionate person and I feel like I hit the jackpot finding her! I just picked up four dresses today and, as...
Read moreWhen my daughter asked if she could wear my wedding dress for her upcoming wedding, I was thrilled and honored. But, I was married in 1985 so my dress had poofy sleeves, a peplum and a full skirt. My daughter had a vision, though, to remove the sleeves, remove the peplum, remove the slips, change the neckline ... basically, she wanted to create a halter dress with a boho feel, using the beautiful and intricate lace of my dress, the collar and the princess buttoned back. She found Renee online and just had a good feeling about her. And she was so right! Renee listened, Beth took notes and video, she asked questions and made suggestions and really GOT what my daughter wanted. We drove an hour and a half, for a few fittings, each time my daughter was in town from Arizona, and each time the dress was closer to the vision. Well, we are so excited to say that the dress is now ready and it's everything my daughter envisioned and more! It is absolutely stunning and worth every mile travelled and dollar spent. Renee is more than a seamstress. She is a dressmaker, with extraordinary talent! All I can say now is "Wow,...
Read moreAn absolutely wonderful experience. I recently received my skydiving license and had a jumpsuit that needed to be altered. Skydiving jumpsuits need to be extremely tough and use specific material, thread and stitching to withstand the abuse they take. I called Renee and turns out she already has experience in skydiving jumpsuit alterations! She matched material, color, threading, stitching and the fit was even better than I could have hoped for. Not only that, she was a joy to work with, friendly, knowledgable, fairly priced and quick to have my jumpsuit back in time by the weekend for more jumps. From someone who's mother is a seamstress by trade (that doesnt know about the skydiving), I was very impressed. I would recommend Renee to literally anyone for their tailoring and...
