We've played Mountain Top three times over the last couple years, including yesterday, and overall it has been a great experience. The 13 hole par-3 course is top-notch, very scenic and challenging yet enjoyable. Because the total experience encompassed in these visits has been very good, I'm happy to rate Mountain Top 5/5. We dined at the Mountain Top Grill prior to our round yesterday and the food was excellent, especially in comparison to our visit last year. Very glad food service is now managed by Johnny Morris rather than last year's food service group. The Crispy Chicken Wings and the Ozark Smash Burger were very tasty. Only downside to our day yesterday was that customer service was inconsistent with our prior visits. Upon pulling up to the the clubhouse, we were greeted kindly where someone confirmed our tee-time. The individual directed us to pull up, park the car and he would assist us in unloading our clubs. We did as asked but, unfortunately, the young man was now assisting the car that pulled up behind us, unloading their clubs leaving us to take care of it ourselves. Not a huge deal but, again, different than our prior experiences. As mentioned, the food in the Grill was excellent but, again, the service left something to be desired. Our orders were taken in a timely manner but after delivery of our food, we had trouble finding our server for some follow-up. In her defense, it was more crowded in the Grill than we've ever seen it before so she was likely trying to keep up. We didn't see her again until she brought us our check. She was very apologetic stating we did not get her normal level of service and she felt very bad for it. As we approached our tee-time, we again felt like customer service was a bit lacking. In prior visits, the course assistants had our golf bags loaded onto push carts at the ready with a bottle of water in each. Yesterday, we had to locate and ask someone to assist us with those items. Once on the course, all was good as we were able to enjoy all that the course and its surroundings are able to offer. What I think it comes down to is that between our last visit and yesterday, Payne's Valley has opened and customer traffic has increased quite a bit in the club house. I believe yesterday was simply a staffing issue and maybe it was an anomaly where I'm am hoping staffing any other day is in appropriate numbers. We look forward to another visit in the future and here's hoping these customer service kinks will...
Read moreWhat an awesome experience! This is a 13 hole (?) walking course only, no carts which we love. We wanted to hit some balls on the driving range before we started so they made sure to tell us to stop at the Buffalo Ridge course where there is a range before coming up the hill to the Mountain Top Course. At Buffalo Ridge the attendant gave us a golf cart as he said the hill may be more than we want to walk and directed us downhill to the well appointed driving range. Mountain Top itself is a very challenging par 3 course with top notch greens. It left us wondering who upset the greens keeper today as all the pin locations were in the most difficult spots (behind front edge bunkers, at the edge of the tier, within 2 feet of the false front!) Overall, we had an outstanding day! The entire friendly and professional staff made the experience even better, From taking our clubs from the drop off to the first tee, opening doors, following us to the parking area to give us a ride back to the clubhouse and picking up our clubs on the 13th green to return them to the drop off point. We will definitely be back to play this course and their other...
Read moreThis course is incredible. It’s a par 3, 13 hole course but Big Cedar doesn’t skimp on the experience at all. The breathtaking views and the challenge of the course made it such a fun experience. Additionally, for the price you pay (which was an excellent value and maybe the best $60 I’ve spent) you receive big dollar customer service. My clubs were wiped down at the end, I was driven from my car in a golf cart, water was in coolers along the course, etc....
