Iāve debated on posting this as I donāt want to discourage a new stylist, but I also want the community to be aware of limitations with said stylist.
I booked Salene for a partial foil with a copper/ginger tone for 11 am on Saturday, September 6th.
She was wonderfully kind, very methodical and thorough, and easy to talk to. However, I personally felt that she did not have the āknow howā to properly execute my hair goal.
Salene took 1.5 hours to do a partial foil, and once she rinsed me, my bleached hair had a gummy consistency and was falling out. I assumed this was due to the excessive processing time on already bleached hair. I ignored this as I had prior highlight bleaching a year ago, and figured a little more damage was just going to happen.
After the bleaching, she then toned my hair. We discussed colors/shades, and I specifically asked for a copper color. She took photos of my inspiration pictures and went to mix the toner. She then applied the toner and let it set for 5 minutes. After rising and drying, my hair was no where near copper- it was a very dark brownish reddish shade. It was beautiful BUT not what I asked for.
She knew it wasnāt what I wanted and asked what I thought, and if I wanted her to re-tone it. Of course I did.
To re-tone, she had to strip the darker tone out of my already processed hair. To do this, two other stylist consulted and helped to remedy the situation and ātake leadā on Saleneās oops.
She decided that lathering a soap and bleach mixture to strip the color (and obviously continue damaging my hair) and a clarifying treatment would do the job. At this point weāre going on hour 4.5 on what was supposed to be a simple partial foil.
Salene then applied the final toner. It turned out okā¦not 100% what I was going after but I accepted it to avoid further damage.
All in all, it took 5.5 hours and I left the salon around 4:30 pm. I had so much damage that we had to cut 5 or so inches off, and I was out $150 for hair that I didnāt want or ask for.
I hate to leave negative reviews, and potentially hinder a stylistās confidence. For that, Iām sorry. But, what happened was not ok, not what I asked for, or expected. If I can help others avoid having to go through what I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give this place -5 stars I would. I went there showed the lady how I wanted my hair and what I wanted it to do. I told her I wanted to keep some length But she did not tell me that in order for my hair to feather out that I had to cut more length off. So I had her do my hair again because I wasn't happy with what she had done. She's in uses the flat iron to curl my hair some and make it flair a little but it was not what I wanted and I was embarrassed to tell her that I didn't like it. I was told by several people that there was nothing that could be done so there's no point in going back and telling them but finally I got the nerve up to call and they said it had been too long which it had been two weeks and a couple of days which I understand that part but the woman never told me that I had to cut my hair a lot shorter to get it to feather the way I wanted it and that's what the manager said when I told her what I wanted My hair looked nothing like the picture and my hair was better before I went and got the haircut. I called corporate and they gave me a 10% discount on my next haircut! As if I would ever go back there after how they treated me. The manager even offered for me to come back in and they would fix it and when I got there she said no they would have to cut off way too much for me to get my hair feathered the way that I wanted it and I was never told that by the lady who did my hair the first time. I have a picture of what I wanted, of what I got, and what my hair looked like before. It turned out awful and now I have to wear my hair up or it's just straight flat down with a couple little areas that are shorter than the other. I am not a hair stylist I did not know that I had to cut my hair shorter to make it flair the way I wanted it and the manager's excuse was maybe the stylist didn't know that. Well that's not my fault that she didn't know that and she's the stylist so she should have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't even want to give one star, even half a star - I wish there was a zero stars option or a -100 stars option. I went to get my hair bleached so i could dye it another color and I went to get it cut. The lady who did my hair, she barely cut it and yes she bleached my hair but it went from being a dark brown to a slightly less brown. She said it would be okay if i dyed over it. I did, the dye didn't stick at all and the brown was still visible. I went back to get it fixed and the manager told me they couldn't bleach it fully and i would have to bleach the color out (it would go back to what it originally was/a slightly less brown then my natural hair) and then come back in two weeks to get it re-done and it would cost more. Thanks! I wish i had listened to the ratings and reviews. NEVER going back again. Charged me a 100 dollars for a lazy cut and bleach, waste of money. DO NOT COME HERE.
updated tip: Go to the nearest CVS, buy bleach (make sure you know the level you want to remove) and do it yourself, don't waste 100 dollars like I did. I did it myself and its better then what they did or could have done. I wouldn't even let these people shave my head because they'd probably mess that up as well. You have a nice day and good luck to any of your...
